Milos rewards charter guests with a combination of geological spectacle and maritime privacy found nowhere else in the Cyclades. The island’s volcanic history has created a coastline of white pumice cliffs, coloured rock formations and sea caves that function as natural amphitheatres when explored by tender. At 75,000 Euros per week, yachts of 35 to 42 metres with crews of five to seven provide a fully equipped base for exploring every accessible part of this extraordinary island.
The western Cyclades’ wind pattern differs from the central chain. Milos is partially sheltered from the main meltemi track, making anchorages on the north and east coasts viable for longer periods than on more exposed Cycladic islands. Morning passages are generally smooth, with conditions building from early afternoon. Experienced crews plan the itinerary around this pattern, scheduling the longer crossings for the morning hours.
Rates from 75,000 Euros per week cover the yacht and crew. The advance provisioning allowance of 30 percent adds approximately 22,000 to 25,000 Euros for a full week’s running costs including Aegean fuel charges, provisioning, port dues and crew gratuity. Milos’ position in the western Cyclades means Aegean swell can extend passages compared to the more compact Ionian. Allow the captain to advise on timing when meltemi conditions are forecast.
