Dehler / Dehler 46 SQ
The 46 SQ sits at the top of the current Dehler range and delivers on the promise the squaretop programme set out to prove: that a 46-footer can race with intent on Saturday and host a family of six in comfort by Sunday lunch. judel/vrolijk drew the hull with a fine waterline entry that widens into a powerful, stable aft section, giving the helm confidence in gusts while maintaining upwind speed that keeps the boat competitive under IRC and ORC handicap. The performance bowsprit extends the sailplan forward, opening asymmetric spinnaker options that transform downwind legs into the fastest point of sail. A standard 2.26-metre keel drives the yacht to windward angles that belie her 11,500 kg displacement, while an 80 HP diesel provides authority in marina approaches and enough reserve for a calm-weather Channel crossing. Below, three cabins and two heads create genuine separation between the owner’s suite forward and guest accommodation aft. Scissor berths in the aft cabins convert between twin and double configurations depending on the passage crew. The saloon centres on a U-shaped dinette to starboard, with the galley running to port behind a raised companionway that floods the interior with natural light. Build quality reflects six decades of Dehler engineering: vacuum-infused GRP skins bonded to a structural grid, Lewmar hatches, and a wiring loom that meets CE Category A ocean standards. Launched in 2023, the 46 SQ has already won European Yacht of the Year recognition and established a growing owner community across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
