MARLEENA is a 20 metre Pershing, an Italian sport yacht delivered in 2021 by a yard whose name has become shorthand for speed and clean, purposeful design. The Pershing look is unmistakable, a low profile, a sharp bow and a long, tapered line built around a deep planing hull, and she pairs that pace with a bright, modern interior and wide decks laid out for the sun. For a couple or a small group who want to cover ground between the Balearic islands and still anchor somewhere quiet by early afternoon, with six guests across three cabins, she is a sharp and good looking size.
Her point of difference is plain: she is built to move. A deep planing hull lets her cruise comfortably in the mid thirties and reach close to fifty knots when asked, yet she stays level and composed enough for the group to talk on deck underway. That turn of speed is the whole point of her. A long run between anchorages becomes a short one, so a single week can take in far more of the coast without ever feeling rushed, with time to swim before lunch in one bay and reach the next before the light goes.
Her decks are arranged for time in the open air. The foredeck opens into a broad run of sun pads set into the bow, a private forward deck with the sea close on three sides, while the aft cockpit sits level with the water as a shaded lounge with soft sofas and a dining table on warm teak. The two ends of the yacht give the party a choice through the day, sun forward or shade aft, and the whole boat is set up so that guests drift easily between the water and the deck.
Inside, the main deck is one bright, open room. The salon carries a long grey sofa on warm teak under wide glazing that keeps the sea in view on both sides, with the lower helm set forward and a dining and seating area within the same space. Glass doors open aft so the living space flows straight out to the cockpit the moment she settles at anchor, and the finish throughout is soft and current, warm wood and pale upholstery kept calm so the sea does the work.
Accommodation is for six guests across three cabins, each with its own bathroom. The master is a comfortable double set low in the hull with soft blue cushions, warm joinery and a seating area alongside, the VIP takes a bright double under a large hull window, and a twin completes the layout with single berths for children or friends sharing. The mix suits two couples travelling together as easily as a family, with the master and VIP giving the two lead cabins real space of their own.
Her home water is the Balearics, and she is well matched to it. From the calas and clear turquoise of Mallorca across to Menorca and the anchorages of Ibiza and Formentera, the islands sit close together, the harbours come alive after dark and the water is a clean blue, while her speed makes the crossings easy. She carries a full set of water toys, launched off the stern the moment the anchor is down, and with her fast planing hull, her wide sun decks and a crew of three, MARLEENA offers a stylish and easy way to cruise one of the finest grounds in the western Mediterranean.
