Apreamare Maestro 88 Yacht Review

Nearly ninety feet of Italian craftsmanship from the same family that has been building boats in Sorrento since 1849. The Maestro 88 is Apreamare’s flagship, a fully customised navetta that scales the yard’s gozzo design language to superyacht territory. She carries 28 knots from twin MAN V12 engines, sleeps ten guests across four staterooms, and holds a CE Category A ocean classification that puts distant coastlines within reach. Every hull is built to order, with interior layout, materials and finishes tailored to the owner’s brief.
Performance

Twenty-eight knots from twin MAN V12-2000 engines driving through shaft propulsion, with a more economical 1650-horsepower option for owners who prefer range over outright speed.

The semi-planing hull designed by Umberto Tagliavini delivers a cruising speed of 17 knots and a range of over 300 nautical miles from a 7,000-litre fuel tank. At 76 tonnes displacement she is substantial enough for open-water passages, and the CE Category A ocean rating confirms her capability. Stabilisation is not optional at this size: zero-speed fin stabilisers keep her comfortable at anchor, and underway she tracks predictably through beam seas.

Exterior Design

Marco Casali took the gozzo’s flowing sheerline and stretched it to 88 feet without losing the grace of the original.

The result is a navetta profile with a low superstructure that avoids the apartment-block proportions common in this size range. A flybridge spans the full beam with a hard top, helm station, wet bar and generous sunpad. The main deck cockpit doubles as an al fresco dining area and entertaining space, while the foredeck carries a second sunbathing area. The transom platform folds down for swimming and tender launching, and side boarding gates simplify stern-to berthing in Mediterranean harbours.

Living Spaces

Twenty guests on deck, with an interior that adapts to formal dining or family evenings.

The main saloon is open-plan, flowing from the helm station forward through a seating area to the formal dining table. Full-height windows on both sides flood the space with light and connect it visually to the sea. The galley is positioned to serve both interior and exterior dining. Below deck, the layout is compact but intelligently arranged, with every surface and piece of joinery custom-made to the owner’s material palette. Air conditioning throughout is standard, and the level of sound insulation surpasses what most production boats of this size achieve.

Accommodation

Four staterooms accommodate ten guests in a layout that balances privacy with sociability.

The full-beam master suite sits amidships, benefiting from the quietest part of the hull. A VIP cabin forward has its own en-suite. Two further guest cabins, configurable as twins or doubles, complete the layout. Crew quarters for three are separated from the guest areas, with a dedicated crew heads and a service corridor that ensures guests and crew do not cross paths. Each guest cabin has individually controlled climate, reading lights and USB charging, and the bathrooms are finished in natural stone with walk-in showers.

Ownership & Specification

The Maestro 88 is built to order, which means the price reflects the specification.

A base build with standard MAN V12-2000 engines and a typical owner’s material palette starts in the region of EUR 6,000,000. Delivery timelines depend on the yard’s order book but typically run 18 to 24 months. Running costs are proportionate to a 28-metre motor yacht: annual haul-out, antifouling, engine servicing, insurance and a crew of at least two for coastal cruising, three for longer passages. The CE Category A rating means she can be flagged for any waters, and the MAN engine dealer network ensures service availability across the Mediterranean and beyond.
