Maiora 36 Exuma Yachts for Sale

The Maiora 36 Exuma is a 37-metre fast motor yacht that won a World Superyacht Award in 2026 in its category, and it is the clearest statement yet of how Maiora reads the modern explorer. Rather than the tall, rugged profile the term usually implies, the 36 Exuma is low, wide and wrapped around the water. The exterior by Quartostile sets a long glazed main deck above a broad hull, and the signature move is a retractable al fresco salon whose side terraces fold down to bring guests to sea level. A bow pool with its own sunbathing area and an intimate nest deck aft give the yacht three distinct social zones, each facing the sea differently. Acube Design handles the interior, where up to 12 guests are accommodated in five cabins and a crew of five works from three cabins. Performance is unusual for the type. Three MAN V12-2000 engines drive two MJP waterjets with a central booster for a 33-knot top speed and a 26-knot cruise, while a displacement-speed range of 1,350 nautical miles keeps longer passages within reach. Hull and superstructure are composite, built to RINA class for unrestricted navigation, and gyro stabilisers work at anchor and underway.

Maiora 36 Exuma Yacht Review

Maiora set out to reconcile two ideas that usually pull against each other, the sporty planing yacht and the beach-club explorer, and the 36 Exuma is the result. At 36.9 metres it is large enough to cross comfortably yet shallow enough, at 1.45 metres of draft, to work the coastlines where owners actually spend their summers. The World Superyacht Awards jury recognised it in 2026, and the appeal is easy to read on deck. Everything is organised to keep guests close to the sea, from the fold-down terraces of the al fresco salon to the forward pool and the sheltered nest aft. It is a yacht built for anchorage living as much as for the passage that gets you there, and it does both at a pace few yachts of its size can match.
Performance

Three MAN V12-2000 engines, each rated at 2,000 horsepower, feed a propulsion package of two MJP waterjets with an additional central booster. The result is a 33-knot top speed and a cruising speed of 26 knots at ninety per cent load, figures that belong to a sportboat rather than a 37-metre yacht. Waterjets also explain the shallow 1.45-metre draft and the yacht’s composure in tight, rocky anchorages. Slow the 36 Exuma down and the picture changes again: at eight knots she will cover 1,350 nautical miles, and at ten knots roughly 1,150, giving her the legs of a long-range cruiser when the itinerary calls for it. Gyroscopic stabilisers run at zero speed and underway, so comfort holds whether she is moving or at rest.

Exterior Design

Quartostile drew the exterior, and the defining choice was to keep everything low and horizontal. A long band of glazing runs the length of the main deck, the superstructure sits well back, and the hull carries its beam of 7.9 metres almost to the bow. The standout feature is the al fresco salon, whose side bulwarks fold down to create a shaded, water-level terrace that opens the main saloon to the sea on three sides. Forward, a pool and sunbathing area occupy the foredeck, a layout usually reserved for larger yachts. Aft and up, a private nest deck gives the owner a quiet corner away from the main flow. The geometry is sculptural without being fussy, and the proportions read as calm from every angle.

Interior & Accommodation

Inside, Acube Design works in a warm, contemporary register of pale woods, soft leathers and large glazed openings that keep the sea present throughout. The 36 Exuma sleeps up to 12 guests across five cabins, with a full-beam owner’s suite that takes advantage of the yacht’s considerable width. Four further cabins, including two VIP staterooms, handle guests, and the five crew are berthed separately in three cabins so service never crosses guest spaces. The main deck flows from the saloon straight out to the folding terraces, erasing the usual line between indoors and out. Headroom, natural light and sightlines all benefit from the low, wide hull form, giving the interior a sense of volume beyond its length.

Deck & Living Spaces

Three outdoor zones give the 36 Exuma unusual flexibility at anchor. The foredeck pool and sunpads form a private forward lounge, well away from swim-platform traffic. Amidships, the al fresco salon and its fold-down terraces become the social heart of the yacht, level with the water and shaded from above. Aft and raised, the nest deck is the quiet retreat, with seating sized for a few people rather than a crowd. A beach club at the stern completes the connection to the sea. Because each space faces a different direction, guests can follow the sun and the breeze through the day without ever feeling on top of one another.

Ownership & Specification

The 36 Exuma is built in composite for both hull and superstructure and classed by RINA with unrestricted navigation, so it is engineered for real cruising rather than coastal hops alone. Fuel capacity is 21,500 litres and fresh water 3,000 litres, supporting the long-range figures at displacement speed. The first examples have been delivered and the series has found a steady market, with recent asking prices around 17.5 million euros and earlier hulls listed higher depending on specification. For a buyer, the appeal is a genuinely new take on the fast explorer, award-winning design, and a build pedigree that runs back more than forty years in Viareggio. Delivery slots and customisation remain available through Next Yacht Group.
