Maiora 42 Exuma
The Maiora 42 Exuma is the flagship of the Exuma line, a 42.5-metre evolution of the beach-oriented explorer idea that Maiora has made its own. Where the 36 Exuma established the formula, the 42 scales it up and brings in two of the most recognisable names in design: Giorgio Cassetta’s studio for the exterior and Elie Saab Maison for the interior, the fashion house’s first full yacht commission. The brief was to break away from the rigid deck-by-deck hierarchy of traditional yachts and let spaces flow into one another. The upper deck becomes a sanctuary rather than a sun deck, and the main deck opens widely to the sea. Accommodation is for up to 12 guests in as many as six cabins, including four VIP cabins and an owner’s suite on the main deck, with a crew of nine in five cabins to run a yacht of this size. Buyers choose between two propulsion packages: three MTU engines on waterjets for a 30-knot top speed, or four Volvo Penta units on IPS pod drives for quieter, more economical cruising near 20 knots. Hull and superstructure are composite, built to RINA class for unrestricted navigation. Fuel capacity of 34,000 litres supports long passages. The first hull is sold with 2027 delivery.

The 42 Exuma offers a genuine choice of character through two propulsion packages. The performance option pairs three MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, each producing 2,600 horsepower, with steerable waterjets for a top speed of around 30 knots. The alternative fits four Volvo Penta engines of 1,000 horsepower on IPS pod drives, trading outright speed for a quieter, more efficient cruise near 20 knots and the easy manoeuvring that pods bring in a marina. Either way the shallow 1.55-metre draft keeps the full coastline in play. Fuel capacity of 34,000 litres gives the yacht real range for extended cruising, and gyro or fin stabilisation is available depending on the owner’s preference. It is an unusually flexible specification for a yacht of this scale.
Giorgio Cassetta’s exterior keeps the Exuma signature of long horizontal lines and a hull that carries its 8.9-metre beam well forward, but adds the presence of a 42-metre yacht. The upper deck has been reimagined as a sheltered sanctuary rather than an exposed sun deck, giving the owner a private level high above the water. Below, the main deck opens to broad side terraces and a generous beach club, keeping guests close to the sea in the way the Exuma line is known for. Large expanses of glazing lighten the superstructure, and the detailing stays restrained so the overall form reads as calm and modern. It is a confident, contemporary profile that still belongs clearly to the Exuma family.
The interior is the work of Elie Saab Maison, the first complete yacht interior from the couture house, and it brings a distinctly fashion-led sensibility to the spaces. Materials, texture and light are handled with the attention you would expect from a maison known for detail, and the layout deliberately avoids the rigid functional layering typical of yachts this size. Up to 12 guests are accommodated in as many as six cabins, including four VIP cabins and a full owner’s suite positioned forward on the main deck to make the most of the view and the volume. A crew of nine is berthed in five cabins, enough to run the yacht at a high standard of service. Throughout, the connection between interior and exterior is kept deliberately open.
Deck space on the 42 Exuma is organised to feel generous rather than merely large. The main deck flows from the saloon to wide side terraces and down to a stern beach club that puts guests at the waterline. A foredeck lounge and pool create a second, more private gathering place away from the main flow. The reimagined upper deck is the quiet high point of the yacht, shaded and secluded, suited to long lunches and evenings under the stars. Because the Exuma concept is built around horizontal, water-level living, every one of these zones keeps the sea in view and within reach, and the transitions between them feel natural rather than staged.
Built in composite and classed by RINA for unrestricted navigation, the 42 Exuma is engineered as a true oceangoing flagship. At 430 gross tonnes it offers the volume of a much larger yacht while keeping the shallow draft and water-level living that define the line. The first hull has been sold with delivery scheduled for 2027, and further build slots remain available through Next Yacht Group, with a choice of propulsion, stabilisation and interior specification. As a new flagship with no settled brokerage history, pricing is best treated as on application; our estimate places it in the mid-twenty-million-euro range, consistent with the smaller 36 Exuma and the yacht’s additional size and specification. Prospective owners should confirm current pricing and availability directly.
