Silent 80 Series For Sale

Silent 80 Series Yachts for Sale

The Silent 80 is the most spacious solar-electric catamaran Silent Yachts has built, a 24-metre power catamaran that turns the sun into genuine autonomy. A 22.4 kWp rooftop array feeds a 354 kWh battery bank, with 708 kWh optional, and drives two 200 kW electric motors, so she cruises at 7 to 8 knots in near silence and, in the right conditions, keeps going without touching a fuel dock. Designed inside and out by Italian designer Marco Casali, she is offered in two and three-deck configurations with four to six cabins plus crew, and the three-deck closed version adds an owners suite with a private 41 square metre aft terrace. The result is a solar catamaran with the volume and refinement of a far larger yacht, built for owners who want zero-emission, low-maintenance cruising without giving up space or comfort.

Silent 80 Series Yacht Review

Silent Yachts built its reputation on a single idea: a production catamaran that makes its own energy and runs in near silence. The 60 Series proved the concept at sea, and the 80 Series is where that technology grows up. Billed by the yard as the most spacious solar-electric catamaran it has produced, the 80 pairs the mature solar-electric drivetrain with a level of refinement and interior volume that rivals conventional superyachts of similar length. Founded in Austria and now built under Silent Group in Italy, the yard handed both exterior and interior design to Marco Casali, and the result reads as a serious yacht rather than a technical statement. The proposition is unchanged but more convincing at this size: a 22.4 kWp solar array, a large lithium bank and twin electric motors deliver quiet, self-sufficient, zero-emission cruising. The 80 suits an owner who wants that independence with the space, comfort and crew provision of a genuine 24-metre yacht.
Performance & Propulsion

The 80 Series carries Silent proven solar-electric architecture scaled up for a larger hull. Two 200 kW continuous-power electric motors draw on a 354 kWh lithium battery bank, with a 708 kWh pack offered as an option, fed by a 22.4 kWp rooftop solar array. At a 7 to 8 knot cruise the boat can run on solar and stored energy alone, giving effectively unlimited range in good conditions and complete silence under way. A range extender, with 2 x 75 kW as standard and 2 x 130 kW optional, covers sustained passages or long spells of poor weather. This is displacement cruising without the diesel routine: no engine drone at anchor, no fuel stops in the plan, and a drivetrain with a fraction of the maintenance a conventional installation demands. The trade-off is a modest top speed, which suits the boat patient, go-anywhere character.

Exterior Design

Marco Casali gave the 80 a timeless, horizontal profile in which every upper surface earns its place. The expansive hardtop and coachroof exist to carry the solar array, yet the styling reads as elegant rather than engineered, with clean lines and the purposeful stance of a true long-range yacht. The near 11-metre beam opens up vast deck areas, and the boat is offered in two and three-deck versions. The three-deck open layout provides a full 84 square metre sky lounge with open sides for a mix of sun and shade, while the three-deck closed version adds a private aft terrace of 41 square metres on the owners deck. A tender garage is concealed in the aft of the portside hull, taking tenders up to 4.5 metres, so the clean exterior stays uncluttered.

Interior & Accommodation

Below, the 80 is offered with four to six cabins plus crew, across several deck and layout options, so one platform covers an owner-focused couple boat or a full family yacht. The standout is interior volume: compared with other catamarans of similar length, the 80 salon is among the largest in its class, a genuinely lounge-like space with a fully equipped galley and room to gather. The three-deck closed version dedicates the upper deck to the owner, with a suite opening onto its private terrace, while lower-deck layouts balance guest and crew accommodation. Interiors are bright and contemporary, and the wide beam delivers the kind of standing volume and natural light that conventional monohulls of this length cannot match. Freeing the hulls of large engine rooms gives the 80 usable space other designs lose to machinery.

Living Spaces

Silence changes how a yacht is lived in, and the 80 is built around that difference. With no engine drone or generator cycling overnight, anchorages become genuinely peaceful, and the social spaces flow without mechanical interruption. The main deck links salon and cockpit in the catamaran tradition, while the three-deck versions add either an open sky lounge for outdoor living or an enclosed upper deck for all-weather use, complete with bar and galley. Large glazing and the wide beam keep every zone light and open, and the aft deck steps down to a broad bathing platform. Onboard water generation, ample refrigeration and self-sufficient power make long stays off-grid realistic rather than aspirational. For owners who measure a yacht by how long it can stay away from a marina in comfort, the 80 living spaces are designed for exactly that.

Ownership & Specification

Owning a Silent 80 is defined by what it does not need: no fuel-dock routine, no complex diesel servicing, and far fewer moving parts to maintain. The solar-electric drivetrain is the headline, but the self-generating power and water systems are what make genuine autonomy practical at this size. Founded in Austria and now produced under Silent Group in Italy, the yard has delivered enough hulls, and sold multiple 80 tri-deck units, to prove the concept beyond a prototype. Pricing varies widely with deck configuration, battery option and specification. The original 80 launched from around 4.4 million euros and the tri-deck configuration from around 5.5 million euros, with current new-build asking prices reported higher still, so the figure here is indicative and should be confirmed against a specific build. For a buyer committed to quiet, clean, self-sufficient cruising with real space, the 80 Series is the natural step up from the 60.
