12 Guests China Semi Displacement for Sale

Curated Selection

Semi-displacement yachts from China designed for 12 guests offer a versatile cruising profile that bridges the gap between fuel-efficient displacement travel and spirited planing performance. The semi-displacement hull form allows these vessels to cruise economically at moderate speeds and push beyond hull speed when the itinerary demands it. Chinese yards apply this proven concept with competitive pricing and increasingly refined build quality. For owners who want flexibility in their cruising speed without sacrificing guest capacity, this combination is well worth exploring.

Semi-Displacement Versatility
A hull that adapts its speed profile to your plans
Semi-displacement hulls feature a moderate deadrise, fine entry and flat aft sections that transition from displacement efficiency to a partial plane as throttle increases. Chinese yards build these hulls in GRP with longitudinal stiffeners and structural grids engineered for the higher loading that semi-planing speeds impose. Engine installations, typically twin marine diesels from Western manufacturers, are sized to deliver both 9-knot economy and 16-knot sprint capability. This dual personality makes the semi-displacement form one of the most practical hull types available for varied cruising programmes.

Adaptable Days for Twelve
From leisurely transits to brisk hops between islands
Twelve guests aboard a semi-displacement yacht benefit from a vessel that matches its pace to the day’s agenda. A morning cruise at displacement speed conserves fuel and provides a smooth, quiet ride along the coast. After lunch, the captain pushes the throttles forward to cover the remaining distance before sunset. The spacious saloon, well-separated cabins and sheltered cockpit keep everyone comfortable regardless of speed. This ability to shift tempo, without changing boats, gives the owner a level of cruising flexibility that few other hull forms can offer.

Evaluating a Chinese Semi-Displacement
Key checks for this hull type and origin combination
Semi-displacement hulls experience higher structural stress than pure displacement designs, so survey the hull and stringer system with particular attention to hard spots and laminate adhesion. Confirm propeller sizing, shaft alignment and rudder balance at both displacement and planing speeds during a sea trial. Review the builder’s track record with this hull type and seek references from existing owners.
