Forty one knots from a 32 footer is not a typo, it is the whole point of her.
The standard Volvo Penta V8 430 CE petrol engine carries the VanDutch 32 to a 25 knot cruise and a 41 knot top speed, numbers that put her closer to a sports boat than a conventional dayboat of her length. Owners who want joystick control and easier low speed handling can specify a single Volvo D6 380 diesel, or twin Volvo D4 300 diesels for redundancy and a calmer note at idle. A 400 litre fuel tank gives a 200 nautical mile range, enough for a genuine day out along the coast rather than a short hop between two marinas. She planes quickly and holds a flat, confident attitude at speed, light enough at 5.2 tonnes to feel immediate under throttle.
No windows, no portholes, just one continuous line from bow to transom.
Mulder Design drew the VanDutch 32 around that single idea, a windowless hull that reads as sculpture rather than boat, and every model in the range above her keeps faith with it. Synthetic teak covers the sole and foredeck, chosen for how well it wears through a season of bare feet and salt water rather than for how it photographs. A built in hideaway swim ladder folds flush into the transom when not needed, keeping the aft end as clean as the rest of her. LED lighting, controlled from the helm, runs the length of the cockpit for evenings that start on the water and do not want to end there.
Ten people fit on deck. The layout is what makes that feel spacious rather than crowded.
The helm sits to port with a single captain’s seat and a forward facing companion seat beside it, while an L shaped lounge to starboard seats six around a wet bar with its own fridge. Aft, a sun pad holds three more, so the whole cockpit works as one continuous social space rather than a series of separate seats. Standard Garmin electronics run a 12 inch display, upgradeable to 16, and a Fusion stereo with Bluetooth keeps the day moving to whatever the guests want to hear. Every surface, from the Silvertex upholstery to the quick dry foam cushioning, is chosen to survive being wet, which on a boat like this it constantly is.
She sleeps two, and that is precisely the point.
Below deck, a single cabin offers just over six square metres of usable space with headroom close to two metres, more generous than the hull’s profile suggests from outside. Two sofas with concealed stowage flank the companionway leading down, and a forepeak head carries a ceramic sink, a lit mirror and pullout storage rather than the bare minimum. This is not a yacht built to disappear below for a week. It is built to bring two people somewhere private for a night after a day spent entertaining ten on deck, and the accommodation is sized honestly around that purpose rather than stretched to claim a cabin count she does not need.
At 275,000 euros new, the VanDutch 32 is the most accessible way into a name usually associated with far larger numbers.
She is the smallest of five models in the VanDutch range, which now runs from the 32 up to the 75, and she is built by Cantiere del Pardo, the Italian yard whose engineering discipline underpins the wider Pardo family of yachts. No crew is required to run her day to day, which keeps ownership costs close to those of a large tender rather than a yacht. Mulder Design’s naval architecture and styling carry through the entire range, so an owner who starts here already understands the language of every model above. For a first yacht, or a fast tender to a larger one, the 32 makes a genuinely considered case.
