A thousand nautical miles at cruise is not a spec sheet flourish. It is the reason she exists.
Solaris Power built the 70 Long Range around a semi-displacement hull rated Category A for open water, a step beyond the Category B certification common among her rivals. Twin Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200 engines drive her to a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top end of 24, while 4,100 litres of fuel underwrite the distance. The hull carries a fine entry and strong flare through the bow, with freeboard held high from stem to stern, a shape chosen for stability at both displacement and planing speeds rather than outright pace. She is not the quickest yacht in her class. She is the one still comfortable a thousand miles from the last fuel dock.
Her silhouette reads calmer than the coupés that made the yard’s name, and that restraint is deliberate.
Solaris Power’s own design team drew a near vertical superstructure that mirrors the upright windscreen, holding the profile taut along a straight sheer line. Construction is resin infused composite with structural bulkheads glassed directly into the hull, a method chosen for rigidity over the long haul rather than showroom looks. Wide, level side decks run the full length behind teak capped rails and bulwarks in place of simple guardrails, useful when the sea is up and hands are needed on deck. The result favours seakeeping over spectacle, a hull built first for the passage and only second for the photograph.
Life on the 70 Long Range spreads across three real decks, not one.
The flybridge alone runs to around 40 square metres, split into a forward helm, a central dining setting beneath the hardtop and an open aft section for sunbathing. Down in the cockpit, a lounging area and a sheltered dining space sit either side of two lockers built to swallow a pair of Seabobs, and the aft platform lowers hydraulically to launch a four metre tender straight from its garage. An optional fold out balcony can open the saloon itself to the sea, set amidships rather than aft, a configuration few yachts this size offer. Guests move easily between all of it, which matters over a week aboard as much as an afternoon.
Four cabins, eight guests, and a full beam owner’s suite set where the motion is least.
The owner’s cabin sits amidships with its own ensuite, the calmest point on any hull underway. A forward VIP offers a further double with private ensuite, while two further guest cabins complete accommodation for eight. A single crew cabin sits forward, fitted with its own shower and wardrobe, a practical nod to genuine long range operation rather than day charter. Inside, light wood and clean lines carry through from saloon to cabin, with panoramic hull windows and drop down side windows bringing cross ventilation without opening a door. The layout is built to be lived in, not just toured.
At just under four million euros, she is priced as a serious cruising yacht, not a status symbol.
Solaris Power builds the 70 Long Range on a 53 tonne light displacement hull, with twin Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200 engines standard and IPS1350 units available for owners who want more headroom at cruise. Fresh water and fuel capacity are sized for weeks away rather than weekends, and the yard’s own engineering department oversees both hull and systems, keeping design and build under one roof. New pricing sits at 3,950,000 euros. For an owner drawn to distance and self sufficiency over marina spectacle, she is a considered, specific choice within the Solaris Power range.
