Four outboards and fifty knots define her character before you have even stepped aboard.
Quad Mercury Verado V12 600 horsepower outboards replace the pod drives fitted to the standard wallypower58, pushing her to a 50 knot top speed and a settled 38 knot cruise. Range runs to 320 nautical miles, enough for a genuine passage rather than a day trip home. The hard chined, square stemmed hull that has defined the wallypower line for two decades keeps her stable and predictable at speed, while fold down platforms either side of the transom fold flush against the quarters, keeping swim access open even with four engines mounted astern. A 1.3 metre draught means she can tuck into anchorages her length would normally rule out.
She looks like nothing built two decades ago, which is exactly the idea.
A square stem and hard chined profile give way to a sharp, mostly glazed superstructure, with carbon fibre detailing picked out against expanses of teak decking. In place of conventional hull windows, two large screens relay real time camera footage from either side of the hull, a trick that keeps her topsides uninterrupted while still letting guests below see the water. Aft, folding bulwark sections widen the open deck by around five square metres when she is at anchor, framing an island sun bed shaded by a carbon framed awning that stows flush against its base when she is under way.
The helm sits under a hardtop that never quite feels enclosed.
Full glazing fills the gap between roof and deck, giving the semi open salon proper headroom without shutting out the breeze. Two high backed carbon framed pilot seats face a console of paired displays, with an electric sunroof overhead for days when even that glass feels like too much shelter. Aft of the helm, a dining table and free standing seating extend the living space onto the open deck, so the boundary between cockpit and salon barely registers. It is a layout built around motion, somewhere to eat, navigate and watch the coast slide past without ever feeling closed off from it.
Below decks she settles into something closer to a proper yacht than a day boat.
A lower salon with sofas to port and starboard leads forward to two staterooms, sleeping four guests in total, with a head and separate shower compartment between them. Two further berths are set aside for crew, so a couple or family can cruise for days at a time without ceding the guest cabins to the people running the boat. Finishes keep the same restrained, technical language as the deck above her, teak accents and carbon look mouldings rather than anything ornate, a cabin built to be lived in at speed rather than admired at the dock.
She is the fast answer inside a range built mostly around comfort.
Built by Wally, part of the Ferretti Group since 2019, the 58X measures 17.4 metres on a 5 metre beam, displacing 21.2 tonnes. Twelve guests can be entertained by day, four sleep aboard across two cabins, and a crew of two keeps her running, drawing on 4,100 litres of fuel for a 320 nautical mile range. New pricing starts at 2,500,000 euros. Against Wally’s own slower pod drive siblings, the 58X is the version built around one simple idea: keep everything that makes a wallypower a wallypower, and make it faster than any of them.
