Zuccon International Project keeps her exterior as composed as the thinking that shapes her interior.
At 36.5 metres, with a beam of 7.9 metres and a draught of 2.3 metres, the SD118 carries Sanlorenzo’s semi-displacement identity into a genuinely large yacht without losing the low, purposeful profile the range is known for. The radar arch doubles as a working structure rather than a styling flourish, sheltering a built in barbecue and a high top table on the upper deck beneath it. Nothing about the exterior asks to be noticed for its own sake. It is drawn instead to support the rhythm of a day on board, from morning coffee on a shaded deck to evening drinks under the arch once the sun goes down.
Nineteen knots at the top, eleven held at a steady cruise.
Power comes from MTU 10V 2000 M86 engines as standard, with a more potent MTU 12V 2000 M96L available for owners who want extra pace in reserve. Either way, the semi-displacement hull is tuned for distance rather than sprint speed, and it shows in the numbers: 25,500 litres of fuel deliver a range of 2,500 nautical miles at cruise, enough for genuine passage making rather than short hops between marinas. It is the same logic that runs through the rest of the yacht, capability held in reserve rather than paraded on the specification sheet.
Sanlorenzo’s design team started with movement, not materials.
Every room was worked out first in plain, monochrome studies of how an owner actually uses a space, materials chosen only once the layout earned its place. The master suite carries that thinking furthest: a separate sleeping area, screened behind dark tinted glass, sits apart from the wardrobe, dressing area, office and bathroom that surround it, so an early riser can move through the whole suite without disturbing anyone still asleep, and step out to the forward lounge directly from the bathroom. Four further cabins bring total sleeping capacity to ten, with day guest capacity reaching twenty, five cabins in all built to the same quiet logic.
The main stairwell all but disappears, and that is deliberate.
Tucked behind a glass wall near the dining table, it keeps the sightline through the saloon clear rather than broken by a run of steps. The material palette is kept equally restrained: three wood types only, a white stained ash, a sandblasted black oak and a glossy tinted mahogany, worked alongside linen, silk and leather to keep the emphasis on texture rather than pattern. A custom pendant light floats above the dining table, lower deck cabins take their panelling cues from classic sailing yachts, and the upper deck converts easily from a daytime lounge into a late night cinema. A spa tub finishes the arrangement, one more space built around how the yacht is actually lived in rather than how it photographs.
The SD118 is built entirely to Sanlorenzo’s own architecture and engineering, with Zuccon responsible for her exterior lines.
She sits comfortably between the smaller SD96 and the flagship SD132 in the range, a size at which serious cruising range and manageable running costs still coexist. A crew of six runs the yacht day to day, enough to service ten guests overnight and twenty for a day on board without strain. At a new price of 16,000,000 euros, she asks a considered premium for a yacht built around ease of ownership as much as presence on the water, and for many buyers in the range that is precisely the trade they are looking to make.
