Tony Castro drew a hull that looks equally resolved open or closed.
The Skydeck’s defining trick, a flybridge hidden beneath a sliding cover, sits at the centre of the 510’s profile. Open, it reveals a genuine upper helm and seating area with a sliding roof over the console. Closed, the roofline flattens into something closer to a hardtop coupe, giving her a lower, more purposeful silhouette at anchor or when running in poor weather. Side drop balconies and glass panels keep the lines light rather than boxy for a yacht of 16.2 metres, and the GRP hull is finished with detailing, eucalyptus wood trims among the options, that lifts her above a standard production sportsbridge.
A 33 knot top speed is a serious number for a yacht this size.
Twin Volvo Penta D11-670 engines come as standard, with 725 horsepower units and Volvo’s IPS950 pod drives offered as options for owners who want more punch or easier low speed handling. Cruising at 25 knots, she carries 1,800 litres of fuel to a 300 nautical mile range, enough for a multi day passage without planning every stop around a fuel dock. A 1 metre draught keeps shallower anchorages within reach, a genuine advantage over deeper hulled yachts of similar length. The engine room itself is well organised and easy to service, a detail that matters more over years of ownership than it does on a boat show stand.
Three cabins sleep six, with the VIP guest cabin finished to a standard above the norm.
The VIP cabin forward carries glass ceiling panels that bring daylight below deck, a detail more common on yachts well above 16 metres. The owner’s cabin has its own separate shower, keeping the ensuite compact without compromising on privacy. Interior design comes from the Galeon Design Team, working in eucalyptus wood finishes with dropped balconies that bring extra light and a sense of openness to the lower deck. A washing machine and dishwasher are both standard, practical additions for owners planning longer stretches aboard rather than weekend trips. It is a cabin layout built around real use, not just showroom appeal.
The flybridge cover is only the start of how adaptable this deck plan is.
A hi-lo bathing platform, rated to lift a tender or jet ski of up to 500 kilograms, doubles as a staircase into the water when lowered, with a storage garage beneath it sized for a small jet tender. On deck, foldable backrests convert seating into a viewing platform, and a sliding panel reveals a bar hidden within what otherwise looks like plain cabinetry. Fridges that switch between chilling and freezing add flexibility for longer trips. With the Skydeck’s roof open, a secondary helm sits above, and closed, that same space folds back into the saloon below, giving the 510 a genuinely different rhythm depending on how she is set up for the day.
Three hundred nautical miles of range gives real freedom from the fuel dock.
With 1,800 litres of fuel and a 25 knot cruising speed, the 510 Skydeck can cover real distance between stops, whether that means island hopping through the Mediterranean or a longer coastal run along less developed shoreline. A crew member keeps day to day operation manageable for an owner who prefers not to handle everything personally, and twelve day guests can be hosted without the layout feeling stretched. Combined with the flexibility of the folding flybridge, the 510 Skydeck suits an owner who wants one yacht capable of hosting a full day of guests and still covering genuine distance when it is time to move on.
