Forty knots is a serious number for a 24 metre hull with this much volume.
Twin MAN V12 engines come as standard, giving the Evo Yachts V8 a 30 knot cruise and a 40 knot top speed. Owners who want a different balance can specify MTU 16V diesels or Volvo Penta IPS pod drives instead, each suited to a different mix of speed, draught and running cost. An 8,000 litre fuel capacity underwrites a 400 nautical mile range at cruise, enough for a genuine Mediterranean season without constant refuelling stops. A 1.8 metre draught keeps her out of the shallowest anchorages, but it is a fair trade for the speed and underlying displacement she carries at this length.
The V8 borrows her stern from sailing yachts, and the rest of the yacht follows that lead.
Valerio Rivellini designed her to sit between sailing and motor yacht worlds, and the sugar scoop stern is the clearest signal of that brief. Bulwarks unfold on each side to widen the aft deck when at anchor, and a dedicated tender garage sits beneath the teak deck with its own crane, which doubles as a parasol mount when the tender is out. Rather than a conventional flybridge, the upper deck reads as a rooftop terrace, with a low profile helm and telescopic guardrails that keep the silhouette clean from every angle.
Four cabins and a genuinely private owner’s suite set the V8 apart from yachts of similar length.
The layout is built to be configured around the owner’s brief, and the version built for this model places the owner’s suite midships with its own aft facing lounge, opening directly onto the aft deck. Guest cabins forward are reached by their own companionway, kept separate from the crew route to the galley and helm. In the saloon, a smart glass window on the aft wall switches from clear to private at the touch of a control, and converts into a screen for watching film on board, a detail that says more about the thinking behind the V8 than any single material choice.
Life aboard the V8 is organised around four helm stations, not one.
Two carbon framed wheels sit at open wing stations, styled after a sailing yacht’s steering position, each paired with its own joystick for close quarters work. It is a detail that rewards an owner who wants to drive from the edge of the deck rather than behind glass. The hydraulic bathing platform at the stern lowers level with the sea, turning the entire aft section into a single uninterrupted space between swimming, lounging and boarding the tender. Across eight guests and a crew of three, the boat is laid out so that movement between deck, saloon and water never feels like a detour.
A new Evo Yachts V8 is priced from 2,500,000 euros.
At 24 metres LOA, 6 metres beam and a laden displacement of around 60 tonnes, she sits confidently in a size bracket where few builders attempt anything as stylistically distinct. Blu Emme’s Naples yard builds in relatively small numbers, keeping the V8 closer to a considered project than a production run, and Rivellini’s design and engineering oversight carries through from drawing board to finished hull. For an owner who has already seen enough conventional 24 metre flybridge yachts, the V8 is a different proposition built around a clear, consistent idea rather than a checklist of features.
