Fifty knots from a hull built to feel unhurried at half that speed.
Twin Yamaha outboards, 300 horsepower each, give the Turismo 9.5 a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top end of 50, numbers that put her comfortably among the quicker RIBs of her size. Mercury 350hp and Suzuki 300hp outboards are offered as alternatives, letting an owner tune the balance between top speed and fuel economy to taste. A planing hull in GRP keeps the ride stable through choppy water, and a shallow 0.6 metre draught opens up anchorages a deeper hulled yacht would have to pass by. With 400 litres of fuel on board and a range of 250 nautical miles, she is built for a long day out rather than a long passage, and that is exactly the point.
She keeps the look of her smaller sibling and simply stretches it.
The Turismo 9.5 is the larger counterpart to Lomac’s Turismo 7.0, sharing its aggressive, heavy duty profile rather than softening it for the extra length. A streamlined hull, low sheer and purposeful lines give her the presence of a patrol craft rather than a leisure tender, and the additional metres go almost entirely into useable deck rather than visual bulk. The console has grown more sculpted than the 7.0’s, now styled with a sharper, more contemporary edge that suits her larger footprint. Lomac’s in-house team has resisted the temptation to overdress her, and nothing about the Turismo 9.5 looks ornamental. That restraint is the design’s real achievement.
Everywhere you look, a seat becomes something else.
The stern carries a U shaped dinette for six to eight guests that folds flat into a sunbed, and the bow mirrors the idea with a forward sunpad that converts into a second dining area. At the helm, pilot and co-pilot sit in proper ergonomic seats with a built in refrigerator close at hand, useful on a boat built for whole days offshore rather than short hops. A door set into the side of the console opens onto a compartment that can take a marine toilet, swallow dive gear and towables, or simply offer shelter from a sudden squall. Twelve guests can be comfortably accommodated across these spaces without anyone feeling short changed.
No cabins, no compromise. The Turismo 9.5 is built entirely for life above deck.
Her 3.5 metre beam is given over almost completely to open living: a wide cockpit, generous side decks and sunbathing areas fore and aft that can host twelve guests at once. The absence of accommodation below is a deliberate trade, not an omission, freeing up volume for storage, water toys and the kind of unobstructed deck space that cabin cruisers of similar length cannot match. A displacement of 2,500 kilograms keeps her light and quick off the mark, while the console’s hidden compartment doubles as the one enclosed space on board when privacy or shelter is needed.
A straightforward RIB for an owner who values performance over ceremony.
Built by Lomac in Italy, the Turismo 9.5 measures 9.5 metres in length on a 3.5 metre beam, with a 0.6 metre draught that keeps her usable in water most yachts her size would avoid. Lomac’s in-house naval architecture, exterior and interior teams handled every aspect of the design, and the yard’s in-house engineering team built her propulsion around a choice of Yamaha, Mercury or Suzuki outboards. With 400 litres of fuel, a 250 nautical mile range and a 50 knot top speed, she is pitched at an owner who wants one boat for watersports, family days and fast coastal hops, without the running costs or complexity of anything larger.
