Thirty five knots, delivered without drama.
Twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 pod drives come as standard, with IPS 700 and IPS 800 available for owners chasing more top end. Cruise sits at a settled 25 knots, and the joystick control that comes with the IPS system turns marina arrivals into a formality rather than a performance. A 300 nautical mile range means the 41XP is as happy slipping out for an afternoon as covering real distance along the coast. Her shallow 1.1 metre draught opens anchorages a deeper hulled yacht would have to avoid, and the planing hull stays settled and predictable as speed builds, rather than turning nervous at the top of the range.
The T-top overhead is, by Fjord’s own account, the largest the yard has fitted to any boat.
Four sunroofs let light into the cockpit on demand, and deeply recessed side decks, with their integrated roof pillars, keep the walk forward secure without breaking the clean run of the hull. Cleats sit flush and fenders stow out of sight in recessed cavities, so the topsides stay uncluttered under way. Forward, a hydraulic slide out system handles anchor deployment without anyone leaving the cockpit. At the helm, a single piece curved windscreen keeps distortion to a minimum, a small detail that matters at 35 knots. The overall effect is lean and purposeful rather than decorative.
No two 41XPs need be arranged the same way.
Fjord offers around twenty layout variants below deck, letting an owner choose between a second head or an additional galley, and between a straightforward mid cabin or one with a privacy partition. The master cabin can carry a vanity and office corner instead of extra stowage, depending on how the boat will actually be used. Four refrigeration points, split between interior and exterior stations, keep drinks and provisions close at hand wherever guests happen to be sitting. At the helm, three seats come as standard, with a fourth available for a boat that will regularly carry a full complement of family or friends.
The cockpit is built to change shape through the day.
Four convertible backrests switch the seating from forward facing to lounging, and two hi-lo tables drop to coffee height for evening drinks or rise again for a proper meal. An optional outdoor galley module, with its own sink, griddle and refrigeration, means the cook never has to leave the party to go below. With day capacity for twelve, the 41XP is built as much for entertaining at anchor as for the run out to get there. Low freeboard and a wide swim platform keep the sea close, an instinct Fjord’s designers return to across the range.
A 41XP that sleeps four and hosts twelve is two boats bought as one.
With two cabins, berths for four and a working crew of one, she sits at a practical size for an owner who wants genuine overnight capability without the running costs of a larger yacht. Fjord’s own design and engineering teams handle everything from naval architecture to engine room layout in house, which keeps the build consistent from hull to helm. New, she is priced from 680,000 euros, a position that makes sense against her performance and her flexibility below deck. For a buyer weighing a dayboat against a small weekender, the 41XP removes the need to choose.
