BIG FISH is a 45-metre expedition motor yacht built by McMullen & Wing of New Zealand and delivered in 2010, the result of a six-year design and build process created specifically for the owner’s vision: a yacht capable of spending months away from the dock, reaching genuinely remote destinations in absolute comfort. Designed inside and out by Gregory Marshall, she was refitted in 2022 and is a multi-award-winning vessel that can go anywhere in the world, and has done.
Her 10,000 nautical mile range (some sources quote 9,200nm) is among the longest in the 45-metre class. She carries fuel, water, stores and provisions for three months at sea. The tender, Triple Ripple, is a 7.8-metre custom McMullen & Wing build with 200+ mile range, jet drive, 12 passenger capacity, a bathroom, dive tanks and fishing outriggers, essentially a yacht in its own right. She also carries a hyperbaric recompression chamber for diver safety, 10 full sets of dive gear, 6 kayaks, 3 kiteboards and full big-game fishing equipment including 4 Tiagra 80W reels.
The interior is Gregory Marshall’s vision of a light-filled, adaptable explorer: floor-to-ceiling windows, white furnishings and clever convertible accommodation. On the lower deck, four queen cabins can become two full-beam VIP suites by folding away dividing walls, giving families genuine flexibility. The owner’s bridge-deck suite has racing-style aft windows and a private half-deck that can be raised for sunbathing or lowered for sea access. A crow’s nest observation pod sits 43 feet above sea level.
BIG FISH accommodates 10 guests across five staterooms with a crew of ten. From €125,000 per week.
The main deck aft of Big Fish is the primary outdoor social space: a covered area with comfortable built-in seating, a dining table and a natural connection to the swim platform. Whether for casual lunches or formal dinners under the stars, this deck delivers atmosphere and practicality in equal measure.
The main salon of Big Fish is the centrepiece of the interior: a generous open-plan living and dining area that uses carefully chosen materials, furniture and lighting to create a space that feels both refined and genuinely comfortable. Large windows ensure natural light throughout the day, and the flow between the salon and the aft deck makes indoor-outdoor living effortless for every guest.
The master suite of Big Fish occupies the best position on the yacht for privacy and natural light. A king-sized bed, ample storage, sitting area, his-and-hers dressing facilities and a premium stone en-suite bathroom with both shower and bath create a private retreat comparable to the finest suite in any five-star hotel.
The sun deck of Big Fish is the highest and most panoramic outdoor space on board: sun pads, comfortable loungers and a bar create an environment where guests naturally gather as the afternoon light changes. Views are unobstructed in every direction.
The sky lounge of Big Fish is the social nerve-centre above the main salon: a versatile space with plush sofas, a bar and entertainment system that transitions between a relaxed daytime lounge and a lively evening gathering spot. Its panoramic windows make it equally popular for morning coffee and pre-dinner cocktails.
