Palermo to Syracuse Charter Itinerary

Palermo to Syracuse Itinerary

Palermo to Syracuse Yacht Charter
A week across the top and down the east of Sicily, from the exuberant capital of Palermo to the ancient beauty of Syracuse, in the shadow of smoking Etna. This route strings together Norman cathedrals and baroque cities, glamorous Taormina and volcanic Catania. Expect three millennia of history and dramatic volcanic scenery, golden medieval towns and fishing-village charm, a rich and rewarding voyage.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Palermo

Begin in Palermo, noisy, bustling and alive with three millennia of history, from Byzantine mosaics to shadowy markets. See the great cathedral and the Ballaro market, then set sail east along the coast.
Day 2

Cefalu

Cruise east to Cefalu, a golden medieval town huddled beneath a great rocky headland, its Norman cathedral rising above the roofs. Wander the lanes, climb La Rocca, and anchor off the sandy beach.
Day 3

Capo d'Orlando

Continue along the coast to Capo d’Orlando and the wild headlands of Sicily’s north, with the smoking silhouettes of the Aeolian Islands on the horizon. Anchor in a clear cove and swim in the warm water.
Day 4

Taormina & Etna

Round the northeast tip to Taormina, the most glamorous resort in Sicily, its ancient Greek theatre framing an unforgettable view of Etna. Explore the town and theatre, then cool off in a cove below.
