The ACE 61 opens Steeler’s performance range and answers a narrow question: how much yacht fits into 18.9 metres without the owner needing crew. The answer runs to an aluminium hull and superstructure, a 5.1 metre beam and a pair of Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 units driving pods rather than shafts.
That choice shapes everything aft of the saloon. Joystick control makes a 38.7 tonne yacht manageable single-handed, and the drives sit far enough aft to leave the midships volume for accommodation. Steeler offers the lower deck as two cabins or three, both with two bathrooms, so one hull answers a couple cruising alone and a family bringing guests.
The numbers support the intent. Maximum speed is 27.5 knots, cruising speed 18 knots, and 2,500 litres of fuel return about 175 nautical miles at that cruise. Draft stays at 1.7 metres and the hull carries CE category A, so the North Sea and the Mediterranean are equally open.
Detail is where Dutch yards earn their money. Double insulated glazing and thermal foam insulation keep the interior quiet in cold water, the Awlcraft paint system holds its finish through northern winters, and fresh water runs to 750 litres.
For a buyer stepping up from a large sportsboat, the ACE 61 offers walkaround decks, standing headroom and the sea-keeping of a far bigger yacht, in a package one person can still berth alone.
