Antarctica Charter Itinerary

Antarctica Itinerary

Antarctica Yacht Charter
A week on the Antarctic Peninsula, the white continent, one of the last true wildernesses on earth and among the greatest expeditions a yacht can make. Beyond the Drake Passage lies a world of colossal icebergs, calving glaciers and penguin cities, of whales and seals and silence on an overwhelming scale. Expect landings on the mainland ice and historic huts, iceberg alleys and glassy channels, a voyage unlike any other.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

South Shetland Islands

Having crossed the Drake Passage, make your first landfall in the South Shetland Islands, your introduction to the white continent. Land among penguins and seals, then cruise on toward the peninsula proper.
Day 2

Antarctic Sound

Cruise into the Antarctic Sound, known as iceberg alley, where colossal tabular icebergs the size of cities drift on the current. Nudge slowly among them by tender, awed by their scale.
Day 3

Paradise Harbour

Sail into the aptly named Paradise Harbour, one of the most beautiful anchorages on the peninsula, ringed by glaciers that calve into the still water. Cruise by tender among the ice and watch for whales.
Day 4

Lemaire Channel

Navigate the spectacular Lemaire Channel, a narrow passage of sheer black cliffs and towering ice often mirrored in glassy water. Drift through in silence, camera never far from hand.
Day 5

Port Lockroy

Visit historic Port Lockroy, a former British base now a museum and the most southerly post office in the world, set amid a bustling penguin colony. Send a postcard from the ice and walk among the gentoos.
Day 6

Neko Harbour

Make a landing at Neko Harbour, setting foot on the Antarctic mainland itself amid a vast amphitheatre of glaciers. Hike to a ridge for the view, then watch the ice calve into the bay below.
Day 7

Deception Island

The expedition ends at Deception Island, sailing into the flooded caldera of an active volcano through the dramatic gap of Neptune’s Bellows. Explore the eerie shore and toast a voyage to the white continent.
