Costa Rica: Panama to the Pacific Itinerary

Costa Rica: Panama to the Pacific Yacht Charter
An eight-day voyage from Panama City across to the wild Pacific coast of Costa Rica, one of the most biodiverse routes on earth. From the Pearl Islands to the rainforests of the Osa Peninsula, this is a cruise of jungle rivers, coral reefs and abundant wildlife. Expect indigenous reserves and private gardens, sloths and scarlet macaws, a rich Central American adventure.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Panama City

Begin at Flamenco Marina in Panama City and settle aboard. Take in the skyline and the canal at Gatun Lake, then set sail into the Gulf of Panama toward the islands.
Day 2

Pearl Islands

Depart early for the Pearl Islands, a lush archipelago where you can swim and snorkel in the clear water. Anchor off a golden beach, snorkel the reef, and enjoy a first tropical day at sea.
Day 3

Mogue Embera Reserve

Arrange an excursion to the Mogue Embera Reserve, paddling upstream in dugout canoes to meet an indigenous community. Learn something of their way of life, then return to the yacht for the evening.
Day 4

Caleta Caiman

Cruise to Caleta Caiman on Restingue Island for a morning of fantastic snorkelling and swimming in true wilderness. Snorkel the reef, swim from the deck, and anchor in the sheltered cove.
Day 5

Golfito

Sail through Golfito to clear immigration, then visit the nearby Casa Orquideas private reserve, a botanical paradise. Wander the gardens, watch for birds, and anchor in the gulf for the night.
Day 6

Osa Peninsula

Take a leisurely early cruise to Puerto Jimenez and anchor off the Osa Peninsula, part of the most biologically intense place on earth. Explore the rainforest edge and swim in the calm Golfo Dulce.
Day 7

Manuel Antonio

Go ashore in Quepos to visit the ruggedly beautiful Manuel Antonio Reserve, renowned for its vast biodiversity. Watch for sloths and monkeys, then anchor off a golden beach for a swim.
Day 8

Playa Bisanz
