Vietnam: Halong Bay Charter Itinerary

Vietnam: Halong Bay Itinerary

Vietnam: Halong Bay Yacht Charter
A week among the limestone islands of Halong Bay and its quieter neighbours, one of the most spectacular seascapes in Asia, where nearly two thousand karsts rise sheer from emerald water. This is a voyage of hidden caves and floating villages, national-park islands and secret beaches beyond the crowds. Expect towering pinnacles and glassy lagoons, kayaking into hidden grottoes, a dramatic and atmospheric cruise.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Halong Bay

Step aboard and sail into legendary Halong Bay, where nearly two thousand limestone islands rise dramatically from emerald water. Cruise among the karsts, kayak a hidden lagoon, and anchor beneath the pinnacles.
Day 2

Bai Tu Long Bay

Cruise into the quieter Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, every bit as beautiful as Halong but far less visited. Weave among the islands, swim in a secluded cove, and savour the calm away from the crowds.
Day 3

Lan Ha Bay

Sail south to Lan Ha Bay off Cat Ba Island, a stunning expanse of karsts fringed with the small sandy beaches rare elsewhere in the region. Anchor off a hidden beach, swim, and kayak the clear water.
Day 4

Cat Ba Island

Cruise to Cat Ba, largest island in the bay, much of it a national park of forested hills and hidden coves. Hike into the park, swim from a quiet beach, and anchor in a sheltered inlet.
Day 5

Sung Sot Caves

Explore some of Halong’s spectacular caves, from the vast chambers of the Sung Sot Surprise Cave to hidden grottoes reachable only by tender. Marvel at the formations, then anchor in the calm.
Day 6

Floating Villages

Visit the traditional floating fishing villages that have long made their home among the karsts, a fascinating glimpse of bay life. Kayak among the houses, then cruise on to a quiet anchorage.
Day 7

Bai Tu Long

The voyage ends among the tranquil islands of Bai Tu Long, with a final morning to swim, kayak and drink in the extraordinary scenery. Toast a week among the karsts of northern Vietnam.
