SQUALO is a Sanlorenzo of just under twenty seven metres, delivered in 2018 with naval architecture and interior design by Officina Italiana, the studio behind so much of the modern Italian look. She carries eight guests across four cabins with a crew of four, and her appeal is the clarity of a current Sanlorenzo: clean lines outside, light and uncluttered within, and the easy confidence of a yacht built for warm water and sociable days.
Her point of difference is the design pedigree and the volume that comes with it. Sanlorenzo builds for people who value restraint over flash, and SQUALO reads that way throughout, with full height glass drawing the sea into the living spaces and a layout that moves guests between deck, saloon and water without fuss. She is quick when it suits, with a lively top end, yet she is just as happy sitting at anchor with the beach club open and the toys in the water.
Life in the open air centres on the sundeck. It runs the width of the yacht with sun pads forward, a wet bar and a shaded lounge aft, the natural gathering point for breakfast in the morning and drinks as the light drops. The bow carries a second, quieter run of cushions for anyone who wants to slip away, and the main aft deck sets out a shaded table a step from the bathing platform. The transom opens onto the water with the tender and a set of toys close at hand for an active day.
Inside, the main deck is a single bright living space arranged for ease. A comfortable saloon gathers around a low table with the sea framed through tall windows, and forward within the same volume a separate dining area seats the full party for meals aboard. A step away the galley is well equipped and purposeful, keeping the crew close to the main deck. The finish is pale oak against crisp white, modern and calm, the kind of interior that feels light on a hot afternoon and warm in the evening.
Accommodation is arranged over four cabins for eight guests. The master suite takes the full beam amidststhips below the main deck, a private room with good natural light, generous storage and its own marble bathroom. Two double cabins and a further guest cabin look after the rest of the party, each finished in the same contemporary style with its own facilities, settled and quiet below the waterline. It is a flexible plan that suits a family or a group of friends sharing the yacht for the week.
Under way she is an assured planing yacht, happy to push on between anchorages when the day calls for it and content at an easy pace when it does not. Her natural ground is clear water and quiet bays within comfortable reach of one another, the kind of island hopping a yacht of her size and turn of speed was made for, with the beach club and the toys turning each stop into a day on the water.
SQUALO suits a family or a group who want a modern, well designed yacht with pace, light and genuine comfort rather than the gloss of a larger build. Her Officina Italiana interior sets her apart, the sundeck keeps the days sociable, and her four cabins give everyone their own space. Sharp, bright and attentively crewed, she is a relaxed and stylish way to spend a week on the water.
