Three thousand nautical miles from a yacht under 24 metres is a serious number, not a marketing one.
A Scania DI13 diesel driveline gives the Arksen 75 a cruising speed of 9 knots and a top speed of 12, modest figures chosen deliberately in favour of range and efficiency over speed. Twelve thousand litres of fuel carry her that 3,000 nautical mile distance, while a shallow 1.3 metre draught lets her reach anchorages well beyond the usual motor yacht’s limits. Displacing 60 tonnes, she rides with the settled, seaworthy character of a true displacement hull rather than the compromises of a planing one, built for distance rather than a quick dash between marinas.
Her lines are purposeful rather than decorative, aluminium left to do the talking.
Humphreys Yacht Design’s naval architecture gives the hull its efficient, low drag form, while Design Unlimited shapes an exterior that favours visibility and access over styling for its own sake. The aluminium construction is recyclable at the end of her life and easier to repair in places a composite hull never could be. An open upper deck gives uninterrupted views out over the water, useful for wildlife watching at anchor as much as for keeping a lookout underway, and wide, uncluttered decks make moving around her safe and simple in any weather.
Stability on the Arksen 75 is not left to chance. It is engineered in, three times over.
Three separate stabiliser systems work together to keep her settled, both underway and at anchor, while her hull form is engineered for genuine positive stability through a full range of sea states. An energy management system works quietly in the background, trimming fuel consumption and emissions over a long passage. The result is a yacht that a crew of two can run with confidence, whether she is anchored off a quiet cove for the afternoon or making an overnight passage between harbours.
Four cabins and a flexible galley mean the Arksen 75 reconfigures around how an owner actually wants to live aboard.
She sleeps eight guests across four cabins, with a crew of two kept comfortably separate, and the galley can be specified forward to starboard or aft depending on how the owner prefers to entertain. Design Unlimited’s interior favours natural materials and an open plan saloon that keeps sightlines clear from galley to seating to the water beyond. Day capacity extends to eight guests, making her equally suited to a family weekend aboard or a quieter charter booking, without ever feeling like a compromise between the two.
At a new price of 3.5 million euros, the Arksen 75 is one of the more accessible routes into the yard’s explorer philosophy.
She measures 23.9 metres on a 5.7 metre beam, built entirely in aluminium with engineering handled in-house by Arksen alongside Humphreys Yacht Design’s naval architecture. That combination gives her the same structural seriousness as her larger sister, the Arksen 85, scaled to a size and a price that suit a first-time explorer owner or a smaller operating budget. For a buyer who wants genuine long range capability without the commitment of a larger yacht, she is a well judged place to begin.
