Twenty five knots at cruise, thirty five flat out, and a transom left clear for living.
Power comes from twin Yamaha 425 XTO outboards as standard, with a Mercury Verado V8 300 pairing or Suzuki DF350A twins offered as alternatives, each configuration built around the same light, infused fibreglass hull. At a 25 knot cruise and a 35 knot top end, she moves with the ease of a genuine day boat despite carrying 1,200 litres of fuel and a cruising range of 250 nautical miles. Mounting the engines on the transom rather than inside the hull keeps her displacement to a lean 8 tonnes and her draught to just a metre, so she can reach shallower anchorages and tighter berths that a sterndrive equivalent of the same length would have to pass by.
Her hardtop, squared bow and low transom give her the look of a boat built to move, not simply moor.
A high freeboard and two tiers of hull windows keep the cabin bright without raising her profile, and a generous sunroof over the helm lets air and light into the saloon on demand. Up forward, a three step ascent past the windscreen leads to a guarded foredeck sun pad with stowage for fenders and a life raft. Aft, the transom folds flat to create a teak beach club terrace at the waterline the moment she stops, turning what was a working platform underway into the most used spot on board at anchor. It is a shape designed around how an owner actually spends a day on the water, not simply how she looks tied up.
Drop her side bulwarks and the cockpit nearly doubles in width in under twenty seconds.
Fold down panels on each side of the cockpit add close to two metres of usable beam, turning an already generous entertaining space into something closer to a floating terrace. Three adjustable helm seats with bolstered cushions and armrests face a dash built for long days at the wheel, while the forward bench slides on its own tracks so guests can face whichever way suits the moment, in towards the table or out towards the view. A dining arrangement seating six to eight sits amidships alongside a wet bar, and bench seating throughout hides practical under seat storage. It is a cockpit built to host, not just to cross water in.
Below deck, two cabins sleep four without a single berth feeling like an afterthought.
The master stateroom sits aft, its berth facing forward with direct access to an en suite shower, while the guest cabin amidships offers a double to port and a single to starboard that converts to a sofa when the space is needed for something else. A lower galley, supplemented by a further sink, microwave and coffee machine, means the crew rarely has to leave guests to fetch a drink or prepare a light meal. Headroom in the cockpit runs to nearly two metres, and the same care extends below, where the cabins feel proportioned for real use rather than squeezed in around the machinery. For a 13 metre outboard cruiser, the accommodation reads several sizes larger than her length suggests.
At 650,000 euros, the DB/43 OB puts flagship outboard cruising within reach of a wider owner.
She carries eight guests by day and four by night across her two cabins, and needs no crew to operate, making her as suited to a hands on owner as to a captain run programme. An optional Seakeeper gyrostabiliser steadies her at rest and at sea, a genuine consideration for a boat built around entertaining on deck. With three distinct outboard packages on offer, from the standard twin Yamaha 425 XTO to the Mercury Verado V8 300 or Suzuki DF350A alternatives, an owner can tune performance and running cost to how she will actually be used, whether that is short high speed hops along the coast or longer, steadier days at anchor.
