Her lines borrow the confidence of a yacht twice her size.
The hull comes from Farr Yacht Design, with exterior styling refined by Judel/Vrolijk & Co, and the result is a profile with real freeboard and a bow that rises cleanly rather than slapping through a head sea. A deep chain locker, a sturdy pulpit with built in seating and a raised bulwark give the foredeck a purposeful, protected feel, while teak decking and inboard genoa tracks keep the lines clean underfoot. Below the waterline, a single deep spade rudder and a 2.1 metre draught combine good directional grip with sensible access to shallower anchorages. Nothing about her shape is decorative. Every surface earns its place.
She points higher and sails flatter than her size suggests.
A sail plan of around 89 square metres gives her enough power to hold 28 to 30 degrees off the wind close hauled, and she settles onto a steady, upright groove once the breeze builds past ten knots. Under power, a Volvo Penta D2-50, with a Yanmar 4JH45 offered as an alternative, delivers a 7 knot cruise and an 8 knot top end, drawing on 240 litres of fuel for a motoring range of around 500 nautical miles. The long handrails along the coachroof keep sheet handling tidy from the cockpit, and optional electric winches take the effort out of longer offshore legs.
Below decks, the N395 AC adapts rather than dictates.
Two cabins sleep up to six, and the forward suite can be specified with a vee berth or an offset double, paired with either an ensuite shower room or a walk in wardrobe depending on how the owner plans to use her. The galley runs over two metres along the hull side, finished in Corian and laid out for genuine cooking at sea rather than simple reheating. A dedicated navigation station remains an option for owners who still like paper charts within reach. It is a layout built around real decisions, not a single fixed brochure plan.
The cockpit is where this yacht does most of her entertaining.
Twin helm stations frame a wide, uncluttered social area built around a solid cockpit table, with high coamings giving real protection at sea and a relaxed perch at anchor. A hinged swim platform folds down from the stern for easy access to the water, while the raised sprayhood shelters the companionway without blocking the view forward. Inside, the saloon carries the same unfussy Scandinavian warmth found throughout Najad’s range: light oak joinery, deep seating and generous headroom for a yacht under 40 feet. It is a boat designed for people who actually use their deck space, not just photograph it.
The N395 AC is built to be owned and sailed without a crew.
Engineering comes from Najad’s own in house team, with the interior finished to the yard’s long standing Swedish standard rather than farmed out to a design studio chasing trends. She needs no crew to run comfortably, and her 9.7 tonne displacement keeps marina and haul-out costs sensible for a yacht of real sea keeping ability. For an owner moving up from a smaller cruiser, or looking for a long distance capable yacht that remains a manageable size for two, she sits in a sensible, well specified corner of the market.
