Omikron OT-60
The Omikron OT-60 is the yacht that launched a new category for the young Greek builder, and it arrived with enough conviction to be named Boat of the Year in 2024. Omikron set out to answer a question owners had been asking for years: could a boat offer the quiet, low-impact, go-anywhere character of a sailing yacht together with the space, stability and easy handling of a motor yacht? The OT-60 is the result, an 18.40 metre long-range cruiser built around efficiency, volume and a genuinely sea-kindly ride.
The hull is the work of Juan Kouyoumdjian, one of the most decorated naval architects in offshore racing, and his influence shows in the way the OT-60 slips through the water. Rather than chasing high top speeds, the design prioritises a long waterline, a slender entry and a light displacement of around 18.5 tonnes, so the boat reaches an easy cruising gait on modest power. With engine options of two by 150, two by 250 or two by 370 horsepower, owners can tune the boat to their cruising style, and even the smallest option delivers a useful turn of speed while sipping fuel. Range is a genuine 1,600 nautical miles at eight knots, which opens up island-hopping itineraries that most planing cruisers of this size could never contemplate, while top speed reaches around 19 knots when the larger engines are fitted.
Above the waterline the OT-60 is unmistakably contemporary. Lorenzo Argento, working with Ciarmoli Queda Studio, gave the boat clean horizontal lines, generous glazing and a flush main deck that keeps the owner close to the sea. Open decks are the defining feature. The cockpit, side decks and foredeck flow together into an enormous social platform, and the beam of 6.00 metres is carried well forward so that the usable space feels closer to that of a much larger yacht. A shallow draft of just 0.9 metres lets the OT-60 nose into coves and anchorages that keep it away from the crowds.
Below, the layout can be configured with three or four cabins depending on whether the priority is guest accommodation or crew and stowage. The interior continues the restrained, light-filled aesthetic of the exterior, with natural materials, soft neutral tones and large hull windows that frame the water. Systems are sized for extended autonomy, with 2,000 litres of fuel and 600 litres of fresh water, and the boat carries a CE certification of A-12 offshore or C-30 inshore depending on specification.
The OT-60 is built in Greece to a high standard and is offered new from around 1.9 million euros, with later hulls specified with the largest engine package commanding more. For a buyer who wants the freedom of a true cruising yacht without masts, winches or the compromises of a sailing programme, and who values efficiency and open-air living over outright pace, the Omikron OT-60 is one of the most original boats to appear in its class in recent years. It rewards owners who cruise slowly, stay out longer and care about the quality of the time they spend aboard rather than the speed at which they arrive.

The OT-60 was conceived to give sailors the freedom and efficiency they love without masts or winches, and to give motor-yacht owners a far more sea-kindly, economical ride. That clarity of purpose earned it Boat of the Year in 2024.
A Juan Kouyoumdjian hull and light 18.5 tonne displacement allow a genuine 1,600 nautical mile range at eight knots, with engine choices from 2 x 150 to 2 x 370 hp to suit each owner.
Flush, connected decks and a full 6.00 metre beam create a social platform that feels far larger than 60 feet, while a 0.9 metre draft opens up shallow anchorages.
Built in Greece and offered new from around 1.9 million euros, the OT-60 rewards owners who cruise slowly, stay out longer and value time aboard over outright speed.
