Twenty six knots feels faster than it sounds on a hull this composed.
Standard twin Volvo Penta IPS 800 pod drives give the GT52 a cruising speed of 20 knots and a top end of 26, with IPS 950 available for owners who want more in reserve. The hull carries a variable deadrise, sharper forward and flatter through the stern, that keeps her stable at speed and easy to turn at low revs around a marina. A 2,000 litre fuel capacity gives a real world range of 350 nautical miles, enough to cross open water rather than hug the coast. She settles onto the plane cleanly and holds her line through a following sea, the kind of manners that come from a builder who learned hull shape on sailboats first.
The silhouette reads sports boat, but the pilothouse tells the real story.
Zuccheri Yacht Design drew the GT52 with a low, planing profile forward and a fully enclosed, climate controlled wheelhouse aft, complete with a sliding sunroof that opens the cabin to the sky in an afternoon. Reduced bulwark height along the bow keeps the deck feeling open without sacrificing the interior volume gained below. The cockpit runs a wraparound dinette that folds into a sunpad, and side decks stay wide enough for genuine walkaround access fore and aft. It is a design built around one idea: comfort at cruising speed should not mean giving up the visual drama of a fast hull.
Below decks, the GT52 sleeps four across two proper cabins, not four squeezed into a dayboat’s afterthought.
The owner’s stateroom sits forward with its own private head and an enclosed shower, while a second cabin aft carries twin berths for guests or family. Pardo’s in-house team offers the galley either up on the pilothouse deck or down at cabin level, a choice that shifts the whole rhythm of life on board depending on whether an owner wants to cook with a view or keep the saloon clear for entertaining. Details throughout favour function over flourish: automotive style switching at the helm, digital systems accessible without leaving the wheel, and finishes that wear well through a full season of use rather than just a boat show.
The hull is vacuum infused, not hand laid, and it shows in how little she weighs for her length.
Pardo’s engineering department built the GT52 around a V shaped, vacuum infused GRP hull with a displacement close to 20 tonnes, light enough to keep both fuel burn and draught down without softening the ride. That draught measures just 1.23 metres, shallow enough to tuck into anchorages a deeper hulled 52 footer would have to avoid. The construction method, refined across Cantiere del Pardo’s long history of sailboat building, produces a stiffer, more consistent laminate than traditional hand layup, and it is the quiet engineering behind a hull that feels considerably larger underway than her length suggests.
The GT52 asks for one crew member, not a full complement, and that changes who can own her.
She is priced from 1,250,000 euros new, positioned as Pardo’s entry point into the Grand Tourer range and built by the yard that has turned out more than 4,000 sailing yachts since 1973. Zuccheri Yacht Design handled naval architecture and exterior lines, Pardo’s own team shaped the interior, and a single crew member can run her day to day, with room for eight guests to gather on deck and four to stay aboard overnight. For an owner who wants a fast, weatherproof cruiser without the running costs or the crew of a larger motor yacht, the GT52 is a considered first step into the category.
