The headline change is written in the accommodation, not the hull.
Where her predecessor offered three cabins, the F65 fits four: three with their own ensuite bathrooms and a fourth, bunk bedded cabin sharing a bathroom nearby, useful for children or crew. The owner’s cabin carries a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom that runs nearly the full width of the hull, a specification normally associated with yachts a size class up. Guest capacity reaches eight overnight and twelve for a day on the water, so the F65 scales comfortably from an intimate weekend to a full boat of family and friends without the layout ever feeling stretched.
Thirty two knots at the top, and enough fuel in the tank not to think about it.
Twin MAN V8 engines, offered in 1,200 and 1,300 horsepower forms, give the F65 a cruising speed of 26 knots with genuine reserve above it. A 4,100 litre fuel capacity supports a range of around 300 nautical miles, enough to cover a full day’s passage and still have margin in hand. The hull carries a 35 tonne displacement across a 5.1 metre beam, weight distributed to keep the ride settled rather than sporty, in keeping with a yacht built for covering distance in comfort rather than chasing a headline top speed.
Glass does most of the talking on the F65’s exterior.
Vast panoramic saloon windows and Princess’s signature wraparound front screens give an uninterrupted view from the main deck in every direction, a look the yard has carried across its flybridge range and refined further here. The foredeck carries split sunpads with the option of an integrated cool box, while side deck access from the helm keeps movement around the boat straightforward under way. At 20.3 metres overall, the F65 wears her length with a low, purposeful sheer rather than height for its own sake, a profile drawn by Princess’s own design studio to sit comfortably alongside the smaller and larger models either side of her in the range.
The flybridge is built for a full day outside, not a quick drink before dinner.
Ergonomic dining seating, a wet bar with barbecue, cool box and sink, and an aft sunbed with an L shaped companion seat that folds into a second sunbed all sit on the upper deck, giving the F65 genuine flexibility between dining, lounging and entertaining. Below, the main deck pairs an aft galley and dinette with a saloon built around a large U shaped sofa and companion seating, all within easy reach of the helm. Noise at cruise stays around 65 decibels, quiet enough for conversation to carry across the saloon without anyone raising their voice.
Certified for eighteen people under her RCD Category B rating, the F65 is built for a full boat of guests as much as a quiet couple aboard.
She is engineered and built by Princess in Plymouth, with the yard’s own studio responsible for both the exterior styling and the interior finish throughout. Two crew can be carried when an owner wants the boat run professionally, and day capacity for twelve makes her equally suited to a marina afternoon or a proper cruise. Between the added cabin, the low cabin noise and the range on offer, the F65 reads as the most complete expression yet of what a mid sized Princess flybridge can do.
