Sanlorenzo rethinks the proven 52Steel platform with the NEO edition, a 51.6-metre superyacht that modernises the exterior lines while keeping the hull under the 500 GT threshold that simplifies classification and crew requirements. Two MAN D2862-LE489 engines, each producing 1,066 kW, push the steel hull to 16 knots and draw from a 55,000-litre fuel reserve built for owner-operated transoceanic crossings. The 9-metre beam creates a generous interior volume that accommodates up to twelve guests in a layout the owner configures from a selection of cabin plans, supported by nine crew in dedicated quarters below the main deck. On the exterior, the NEO treatment refines the superstructure proportions: thinner window mullions, a reshaped forward observation lounge and a revised aft beach club that opens flush to the waterline via a fold-down transom platform. Construction follows Sanlorenzo’s La Spezia process: a fully classified steel hull mated to an aluminium superstructure, with systems integration managed in-house to protect the yard’s acoustic and vibration benchmarks. Inside, clients choose from the Sanlorenzo style department’s palette or appoint an external designer; either path yields a finish standard measured in sub-millimetre tolerances on joinery and stonework. The 52Steel NEO updates a hull with a strong delivery record, applying contemporary design language without re-engineering the proven running surfaces and structural scantlings that earned the original its reputation.
