Milos offers a charter experience that rewards guests who explore by tender rather than on foot. The island’s most spectacular sites, including the sea caves of Kleftiko, the lunar landscape of Sarakiniko and the painted fishing village of Klima, are all accessible by small boat and barely touched by land-based tourism. At 50,000 Euros per week, yachts in the 25 to 35 metre range deliver this experience with professional crews of three to five for groups of six to eight guests.
The western Cyclades have a different character from the famous islands of the central chain. Milos, Folegandros and Sifnos are less visited, more local in atmosphere and considerably quieter in anchorage. Yachts in this budget range use Adamas as a provisioning and logistics base, moving out to the island’s dramatic anchorages for the majority of the week.
Rates from 50,000 Euros per week cover the yacht and professional crew, before the advance provisioning allowance of approximately 30 percent, which adds around 15,000 Euros for fuel, food, port fees, drinks and crew gratuity. High season rates apply in July and August; June and September offer the same island conditions at lower rates and with less competition for the best anchorages.
Milos works particularly well for guests chartering for the first time, who discover that the island’s best experiences are entirely dependent on having a boat.
