CNB / CNB 88
The CNB 88 marks the builder new flagship, a 28.3-metre sailing yacht that puts genuine blue-water range and superyacht comfort into a hull that two experienced sailors can handle without permanent crew. Philippe Briand shaped the underwater body around a moderate-displacement philosophy, balancing a 16,200-kilogram keel against clean waterlines that reward both light-air reaching and hard upwind work. The sail plan is generous: a 213-square-metre mainsail drives the boat efficiently, while the wardrobe extends to asymmetric spinnakers and code sails totalling well over 1,000 square metres of downwind canvas. Piaton Yacht Design furnished the interior with a residential sensibility, using warm timber panels, hand-finished joinery and indirect lighting to create living spaces that feel settled rather than clinical. The owner suite occupies the full beam amidships, separated from two guest cabins by a central social zone that flows from the chart table through the saloon to a dedicated galley. Forward and below, two crew cabins sit alongside a service pantry and independent access to deck, keeping operational traffic clear of the guest accommodation. A Volvo D4 auxiliary provides reliable motoring for harbour approaches and calm-day passages, backed by a 3,000-litre fuel reserve and 1,800 litres of fresh water. Systems are laid out for self-sufficiency, with generator capacity, watermaker provisions and comprehensive electronics that suit extended offshore voyaging. The 88 is built to Lloyd standards under the Solaris Group production framework, combining CNB traditional hull expertise with updated composite technology and quality-control protocols.
