SL 86A Yacht Charter

SL 86A is Sanlorenzo’s answer to a problem most yards never thought to question: why a motor yacht needs a side deck on both sides. The SL86A removes one of them, running a single asymmetric walkway and pushing the interior outward to claim the space a second deck would have taken. The result is a 27-metre yacht that lives much larger than her length, with a main deck and flybridge that feel a size up. Delivered in 2026, she is one of the clearest expressions yet of an idea Sanlorenzo has made its own.

That extra width shows the moment you step aboard. The main salon stretches almost wall to wall, glazed in long low windows that bring the sea close and keep the room bright through the day. The designers have kept the palette quiet, pale oak, soft greys and natural leather, so nothing competes with the light or the view. Lounge and dining sit within one flowing space, with a separate forward nook for more intimate meals.

Outside, the asymmetric layout gives the social decks room to breathe. The aft deck carries a shaded lounge and dining set close to the water, while the foredeck opens into a generous sunpad terrace that many larger yachts cannot match. Above, the flybridge runs long and open, part sun and part shade, with the helm set forward and the rest given over to lounging and a bar. She is a yacht built to be lived in outdoors.

Below, SL 86A sleeps eight. The full-beam master amidships makes the most of the widened hull, calm and private with its own natural light, while the further cabins and a twin carry the same restrained, contemporary finish. The bathrooms are worked in stone and warm timber, a quiet kind of luxury that shows in the materials rather than the gesture. A crew of four runs the yacht and its service with an easy, professional touch.

Her performance matches the design. Twin MAN engines give a top speed close to thirty knots and a comfortable cruise in the mid-twenties, enough to move quickly between the ports of the Riviera and still arrive composed. Her natural season runs from St Tropez and Cannes across to Portofino, the Amalfi Coast and the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, the stretch of the Mediterranean that rewards a fast, good-looking yacht with somewhere new to be each evening.

The experience on board leans on that blend of speed and space. Short passages between harbours leave long afternoons at anchor, where the low swim platform and the open decks turn the yacht into a base for the water rather than a barrier to it. Nothing about the day feels fixed; the layout simply gives everyone room to choose their own pace.

What sets SL 86A apart is not a single feature but a way of thinking. By questioning a convention everyone else accepted, Sanlorenzo has freed space, light and flow that a yacht this size is not supposed to have. For a charter group that values design as much as comfort, she offers both without asking either to give way, modern Italian yacht design at its most considered.
