SANDBANK brings a fresh, light-filled take on the 34 metre charter yacht. Delivered by Gulf Craft in 2023 as a Majesty 111, she carries interior and exterior work by the Dutch studio Phathom, and the brief shows in every space: this is a yacht designed around how a charter party actually lives at sea.
Her signature sits at the bow. A dip pool is set into the foredeck, ringed by sun pads and a deep U-shaped sofa with two adjustable tables, a private vantage point for morning swims and long lunches with open water on three sides. The pool has a second life below deck. Its glass base draws daylight straight into the main deck master, so the owner wakes under a shifting play of light and water rather than a solid ceiling.
Light is the organising idea throughout. Phathom specified around 40 percent more glazing than a yacht of this size usually carries, and the main salon feels it. Warm wood finishes, dark marble and reflective surfaces are balanced against the glass, giving a combined lounge and dining area that reads calm by day and intimate after dark. One deck up, a separate sky lounge adds a second, quieter living room with its own bar and a freestanding media wall, useful on a yacht built to carry ten guests who do not always want to share the same space.
The accommodation runs to six suites for ten guests, with the full beam master set forward on the main deck where the light and views are best. Guest cabins on the lower deck include comfortable doubles and a twin with two single berths, each finished in the same restrained palette of pale leather, warm timber and soft concealed lighting. A crew of six looks after the yacht from their own quarters, and the service routes are kept clear of the guest flow so the experience stays private.
Outdoor living is spread across three levels. The main deck aft lounge opens directly off the salon doors, a sheltered space of soft seating and a shaded table that works for everything from breakfast to cards late in the evening. Steps lead down either side to the swim platform, and the tenders and water toys stow in a lazarette garage at the stern so the aft deck stays clear and usable.
On the sun deck, a generous al fresco dining area sits beneath a slatted overhead that opens or closes for shade and ventilation, with an open sunbathing zone set further aft. It is the kind of flexible, shaded space that makes long days at anchor easy, whatever the weather is doing.
Underway, twin MAN V12 engines give her a top speed of 20 knots and a relaxed 12 knot cruise, enough to move between anchorages without fuss while keeping the ride quiet. A full selection of water toys, air conditioning throughout and onboard WiFi complete a yacht that is clearly set up for families and groups rather than for show.
Based in the West Mediterranean, SANDBANK suits charter guests who want contemporary design, natural light in every room and a layout that keeps the water within reach from almost every deck.
