Thirty six knots at the top, twenty five at cruise: numbers that put the ST550 firmly in performance territory for a yacht this size.
Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D6 engines as standard, with Cummins QSB6.7 and MAN i6 units offered as alternatives for owners who want to tune the balance between speed and range. A 1,600 litre fuel capacity supports a cruising range of 300 nautical miles, enough for a week working the coast without hunting for a fuel dock. The hull carries full sections forward, built to hold a line through chop rather than skip across it, and Invictus’s own engineering team has tuned the running trim so the bow stays down at speed instead of hunting for air. It is a yacht built to be driven, not just steered.
The retrousse bow is not a styling flourish. It is the signature that built the brand.
Christian Grande’s design language, refined across a decade of Invictus models, reaches its fullest expression on the ST550. The raised, upturned stem lifts the bow clear of green water at speed and gives the profile a coiled, forward leaning stance even at rest. Two variants share the same hull: the TT, with an open hardtop and sociable helm seating, and the ST, with a fully enclosed wheelhouse for owners who cruise in cooler waters or want year round protection. Teak decking runs the length of the foredeck, where a wide sunpad turns the bow into its own destination, separate from the cockpit behind.
Two cabins, four berths, and a master that claims the best address on board.
The owner’s cabin sits forward in the bow, with its own en suite head and a shower built for two. Amidships, a second cabin holds sliding single berths that convert to a double, positioned for the calmer motion nearer the yacht’s centre. Owners can specify a portside galley in place of a third berth area, trading a little sleeping capacity for a proper cooking station belowdecks. Headroom runs to 2.08 metres in the master and 1.93 metres in the guest cabin, generous figures for a 55 foot hull. Wood panelling, leather upholstery and LED lighting carry the same finish quality through both decks, with deep stowage and inspection hatches built into the sole throughout.
Aft, the ST550 turns almost domestic: a lowering bulwark terrace opens the cockpit straight onto the water.
Borrowed from the smaller Invictus 460 and scaled up for this flagship, the fold down terrace extends to starboard near the waterline, turning the aft deck into a swim platform, sunbathing spot and boarding point in one motion. Behind it, the gunwales fold flat to widen the anchor deck when it is time to settle in for the night. A broad cockpit lounge, sheltered by the flybridge overhang on the ST version, keeps guests out of direct sun through the hottest part of the day. Between the bow sunpad, the aft terrace and the fold down gunwales, there is always a quiet corner to claim, whether the yacht is moving or at anchor.
A flagship built on a decade of Invictus’s own record, not a first attempt at the size.
The ST550 measures 16.75 metres LOA on a 4.9 metre beam, drawing 1.1 metres, with a displacement of around 20 tonnes. She carries eight guests by day and sleeps four across her two cabins, with berths for two crew for owners who cruise with permanent staff aboard. At a new price near 1.25 million euros, she sits at the top of the Invictus range, offered in both TT hardtop and ST wheelhouse form on the same hull, so the choice comes down to climate and how an owner wants to arrive rather than any compromise in performance. For a buyer moving up from a smaller Invictus, or arriving at the brand for the first time, the ST550 is the clearest statement the yard has built yet.
