Twin MAN V12 diesels, rated at 1,400 horsepower as standard, give the 54 C a 30 knot cruise with a top end of 40 knots when asked for it, and Viking offers a 1,550 horsepower version of the same engine for owners who want more in hand. A raked stem and pocketed propellers keep the hull settled at speed, while a 15 degree transom deadrise and power assisted hydraulics make her cornering sharp without feeling nervous. Web type engine beds, powder coated steel with vibration dampening built in, carry the weight of the twin diesels through a hull that tips the scales at around 34 tonnes fully fuelled. Inboard oil and fuel filters simplify routine maintenance, a Delta T ventilation system with dual fans keeps the engine room working efficiently, and a Y valve crash pump on each main engine adds a serious layer of redundancy offshore. Five blade propellers, matched to ZF transmissions at a 2.0 to 1 ratio, convert that power efficiently, and the flying bridge electronics sit behind acrylic panels, protected from spray without ever being hard to reach.

The accommodation plan splits across three staterooms with two heads, enough for a family or a full fishing crew to stay over in comfort. Amtico flooring and fibreglass shower stalls keep the heads practical for life after a day on the water, and storage runs throughout the layout rather than being an afterthought squeezed in where space allowed. Hand laid construction, rather than resin infusion, gives Viking the finish control to hold a consistent, high gloss gelcoat across the whole hull, a visual standard the yard has built its name on.

A U shaped galley, fitted with Corian worktops, gives the cook real room to work between legs offshore, and sits close enough to the salon that conversation never has to stop.
