These engines are known for their reliability and efficiency, allowing for extended range and reduced fuel consumption. The yacht’s planning hull configuration, constructed from durable GRP materials, ensures a smooth and stable ride even in challenging sea conditions.

With its advanced navigation and fishing equipment, the 58 C is perfectly suited for serious anglers looking to land their next big catch. Meanwhile, the spacious flybridge offers panoramic views and ample seating, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and socializing. Viking 58 C Yacht Review

Forty two knots, a cockpit built for serious work, and nearly three decades of pedigree behind every line. The Viking 58 C is the modern take on a design that first went to work in 1991 and has not stopped since. This second generation keeps what made the original 58 a benchmark and updates almost everything else: a hull built from resin infused balsa core and carbon hybrid fabrics, a cockpit that gives a fighting crew genuine room to work, and enough speed, 42 knots at the top, to put real distance between her and the fleet on the way to the grounds. Two cabins sleep four in comfort, and a crew of two keeps the operation running smoothly day to day. For an owner who wants scale, speed and a build pedigree that goes back generations, the 58 C delivers all three without complication.
Exterior Design

She reads as serious from any angle, and she is.

The flying bridge carries dual recessed electronics boxes either side of the helm, shielded by a clear acrylic spray guard, and the structure is built to take a full tuna tower with triple spreader outriggers stretching to 41 feet. Below, the hull is laid up in resin infused end grain balsa core, sandwiched between fibreglass and a hybrid carbon fibreglass fabric, a construction method chosen for strength without the weight penalty a sportfisherman this size would otherwise carry. Tanks and bulkheads follow the same approach, keeping the structure consistent from keel to deck rather than cutting weight in the places that matter most.

On Board

A 165 square foot cockpit is not a number you forget.

Teak decking underfoot, a transom livewell, in deck fish boxes and side lockers give a crew everything they need within arm’s reach, and a transom door with a lift gate keeps the business of landing fish efficient. Fresh and saltwater washdowns, a Release Marine rocket launcher and a Seakeeper 9 gyrostabiliser round out a cockpit built for tournament days rather than afternoons. Aft of the helm, Miya Epoch teaser reels sit ready to work, and the whole arrangement is sized for serious fishing without crowding the space needed to actually fight a fish once it is hooked.

Engineering

Power comes in three forms here, and all three are proven.

Twin MAN V12 diesels, rated at 1,400 horsepower each, come standard, with a 1,550 horsepower version of the same engine available for owners who want more at the top end. A third option, MTU’s V10 2000 M96L, gives a further choice of character for the same role. Cruising at 36 knots and reaching 42 at the top, the 58 C carries 5,686 litres of fuel for a 400 nautical mile range, numbers that hold up closely against her own sea trials. At just over 36 tonnes fully loaded, she carries her power efficiently rather than needing to overcome her own weight to use it.

Interior & Accommodation

An open salon that feels larger than the hull around it.

High gloss walnut cabinetry runs through the interior, paired with a Sub-Zero equipped galley and Amtico flooring that keeps the practical spaces as considered as the social ones. Two cabins sleep four guests in comfort, a scale that suits an owner who fishes hard with a small crew rather than entertaining a full boatload. The salon’s open design is deliberate: fewer divisions, more light, and a sense of space that belies the yacht’s actual footprint, a trick Viking has refined across generations of convertibles this size.

Ownership & Specification

A flagship sized convertible with the history to back up the claim.

At 18 metres length overall on a 5.4 metre beam, with a 5 foot draught, the 58 C updates a lineage Viking first introduced in 1991, when the original 58 helped establish the yard as a genuine force in sportfishing. Naval architecture, exterior design and engineering remain in house, credited to Viking’s own departments throughout. Crewed by two, carrying twelve day guests and sleeping four, she is built for an owner who wants the scale and speed of a flagship convertible without stepping outside a size that still feels personal to run.
