Thirty six knots, and she still thinks like a tournament boat.
Twin MTU 16V2000 M96L diesels, rated at 2,635 horsepower apiece, give the 90 Sky Bridge her pace, settling to an easy 30 knot cruise when the day calls for comfort rather than speed. A fuel capacity of 11,356 litres supports a 400 nautical mile range, while a hull displacing around 90 tonnes stays composed at speed without feeling heavy at rest. The 1.6 metre draught is the detail that matters most to an owner who fishes: it opens inlets and flats that a deeper flagship simply cannot enter, without giving up any of the horsepower that gets her there fast.
Viking gave her two helms instead of one.
An enclosed lower bridge, screened by a single pane windshield and swept by three wipers, sits beneath an open Sky Bridge perch roughly 24 feet above the waterline. Run from below in poor weather, or climb up top for the view a serious angler actually needs. Each station carries its own electronics, three displays up top and five at the lower helm, so nothing is lost moving between them. Aft, a 224 square foot cockpit is built for the work: twin 103 gallon refrigerated fish boxes, a 203 gallon transom livewell, and the deck space to fight a fish properly before she ever comes near the gaff.
Four staterooms, and not one of them an afterthought.
The master suite runs with a king berth, a Jack and Jill head arranged around a central shower, a vanity, a sofa and a walk in closet, the kind of detail usually reserved for a yacht twice her size. A VIP stateroom forward carries its own en suite head, and two further cabins complete sleeping arrangements for eight guests, with two crew berthed separately aft. High gloss walnut joinery and teak trim run throughout, giving the accommodation deck a warmth that the fishing cockpit, by design, does not try to match.
The galley is built for a full day offshore, not just a cocktail hour.
A four burner electric cooktop, twin Sub Zero refrigeration and freezer columns and a dishwasher mean the crew can feed a full boat without a single trip ashore. The dining table, a generous 42 by 78 inches, seats the whole party in one sitting, while a 65 inch television anchors the main saloon for evenings when the fishing stories take over. Wood finishes carry the same high gloss walnut from the staterooms through into the living spaces, keeping the whole interior reading as one considered design rather than two different boats stitched together.
She is the largest Sky Bridge Viking builds, and she wears it well.
At 27.4 metres with a 7.4 metre beam, the 90 Sky Bridge is drawn, engineered and built entirely in house by Viking’s own design and engineering teams, a continuity that shows in how closely the fishing cockpit and the accommodation deck work together rather than compete. Displacing around 90 tonnes on a 1.6 metre draught, she is sized to cruise comfortably between grounds while still fishing hard when she arrives. For an owner moving up from a smaller Viking, or choosing a first flagship built around both sport and comfort, the 90 Sky Bridge is a considered, fully resolved answer.
