About Loon

LOON is a 67.5-metre world-cruising motor yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts, with exterior styling by Redman Whiteley Dixon and interiors by Studio Linse. Originally launched around 2009 and delivered in 2010, she was extended by some five metres during a 2014 refit and further refreshed in 2020, with new exterior furnishings added more recently. The result is a hugely popular, well-proven charter yacht that combines clean, contemporary design with the range and capability to explore the world in comfort.

She accommodates twelve guests in seven cabins, and her layout is notable for its flexibility. The spectacular owner’s suite is spread across two decks, with a private staircase leading up to an observation lounge and study that can serve as part of the suite, a guest cinema or an additional lounge, all with direct access to the foredeck. A VIP stateroom sits on the upper deck alongside a convenient convertible cabin, ideal for families with young children, while four further guest cabins on the lower deck provide ample, adaptable accommodation for both families and groups of friends.

LOON’s interiors are timeless and welcoming, with neutral, elegant finishes, abundant natural light and bespoke detailing throughout. The main-deck salon offers a sociable lounge centred on the latest entertainment, with a formal dining area seating around ten just aft, framed by panoramic windows that draw in the surrounding seascape. Soft lighting and considered materials create a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere suited to every occasion.

Outdoor and leisure spaces are a highlight. A swimming pool sits among generous lounging areas, and the beach club has been thoughtfully designed with comfortable loungers, a bar, a dedicated gym and a sauna, making it a hub of activity through the day and a tranquil spot from which to take in the cruising grounds. Two al fresco dining areas on the main and upper decks, a sun deck and a private owner’s deck offer a variety of vantage points, and the beach club is especially popular with multi-generational groups, allowing adults to relax while keeping a careful eye on children in the water below.

For the active, LOON is renowned for her incredible selection of water toys and on-board activities, ranging from inflatables and jet skis to a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment and full scuba gear, supported by four tenders for trips ashore and rendezvous diving. Her award-winning crew, led by an experienced captain and management team, has built a strong reputation for delivering fun, active and seamless charters, and she enjoys a loyal following of repeat guests.

Built around a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, LOON is equipped with zero-speed stabilisers that work both underway and at anchor for maximum comfort. Powered by twin MTU engines, she cruises at around thirteen knots, reaches a top speed of roughly sixteen knots and boasts a transatlantic range of some six thousand nautical miles, making her genuinely capable of long-distance, world-cruising itineraries.

A crew of eighteen ensures an exceptional level of service throughout. LOON typically spends her summers in the Mediterranean and her winters in the Caribbean, and with her combination of flexible accommodation, abundant amenities and proven charter pedigree, she remains a firm favourite for families and groups alike.
