RIO is a 62-metre displacement motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard CRN and delivered in 2022, with exterior lines by the Dutch studio Omega Architects and a bold, characterful interior by Pulina Exclusive Interiors. An award-winning design, she took top honours in the Best Naval Architecture and Displacement Motor Yacht categories at the 2023 Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. Fun, vibrant and inviting, she was conceived specifically with families in mind, and is both child-friendly and pet-friendly, making her a standout choice for multi-generational charters.
Her interior takes its cue from a tropical theme, paying playful homage to the animated film that shares her name. White slatted, textured and backlit walls contrast with rich American walnut floors, while floor-to-ceiling windows throughout flood the spaces with natural light and frame impressive views of the cruising grounds. The main salon centres on a striking Azul Macaubas stone bar, with a relaxed lounge forward and an expandable round dining table amidships that can seat all guests. The sky lounge, considered the heart of the yacht, functions as a dedicated family room, with games, toys, books and comfortable seating that allow adults to relax aft while children play forward.
RIO accommodates twelve guests across six suites. She was built to host up to three principal couples in comparable comfort, with an owner’s cabin on the upper deck, a VIP on the main deck and a further full-beam VIP on the lower deck, all to a similar standard. The remaining accommodation comprises additional doubles and a twin, each with its own colour scheme and luxurious materials, ensuring every guest enjoys a private, beautifully appointed retreat.
A defining feature is her enormous bow, which accounts for almost a third of her length and houses a sunken Jacuzzi, a settee and bright, comfortable lounge seating, creating a private forward sanctuary. At the stern, a beach-club wellness centre opens onto a swim platform and includes a hammam, a chromotherapy shower, a massage room and a well-equipped gym, while a dedicated gym was also added to the main deck in 2024. A guest elevator services all four decks, and a bridge-deck Jacuzzi adds another inviting spot to relax.
For activity, RIO carries a generous selection of water toys, including two waverunners, towables, water skis, a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks and full fishing and scuba equipment, supported by her tenders for trips ashore and exploration. Her five-star crew is particularly experienced in catering to families, ensuring children and adults alike are kept entertained and well looked after.
Environmentally, RIO is notable for her IMO Tier III certification, which delivers a substantial reduction in harmful emissions, and for advanced noise and vibration damping that keeps sound levels remarkably low in the owner’s suite and main salon. Built from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers the stability of a full-displacement design. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she cruises at around twelve knots, reaches a top speed of roughly fifteen knots and has a transatlantic range of some four and a half thousand nautical miles.
Looked after by a crew of fifteen, RIO divides her year between the Mediterranean in summer and the Bahamas and Caribbean in winter, offering families a sporty, stylish and genuinely welcoming yacht for the holiday of a lifetime.
