AZTECA is a 49.7-metre motor yacht built by the Turkish yard Nereids Yachts and delivered in 2005, the largest yacht Nereids has built. She was extensively refitted in 2019 and 2023, and designed throughout by British designer Michael Leach, whose work creates a timeless interior using cream carpets and upholstery against dark woods, with subtle metallic and olive accents that add modernity without sacrificing warmth.
Her full-beam owner’s suite is on the main deck forward with panoramic views, joined by a full-beam VIP suite and four further cabins on the lower deck. Quantum zero-speed stabilisers ensure exceptional comfort at anchor, and her 5,400 nautical mile range makes AZTECA genuinely capable of transoceanic charters. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3512B engines to a maximum of 17 knots and a cruise of 12, she is managed through Edmiston with a crew of 11. Charter from $220,000 per week in the Caribbean and Central America.
The main deck aft of Azteca is the social heart of the exterior: a covered area with comfortable built-in seating, a dining table and a natural flow to the swim platform below. Whether for casual lunches or formal dinners under the stars, this space is purposefully designed for the pleasures of outdoor life at sea.
The main salon of Azteca is a considered and generous open-plan living and dining area that uses the finest materials, furniture and lighting to create a space that feels as refined and comfortable as a top private residence. Large windows ensure natural light throughout the day, and the natural flow from salon to aft deck makes indoor-outdoor living completely effortless.
The master suite of Azteca occupies the finest position on the yacht for privacy and natural light. A king-sized bed, sitting area, his-and-hers dressing facilities and a premium stone en-suite bathroom with shower and bath create a private retreat of the highest calibre, one that compares favourably with the finest suites in any shore-based five-star hotel.
The sun deck of Azteca is the highest and most panoramic outdoor space on board: sun pads, comfortable loungers and a well-stocked bar create a space where guests naturally gather. Unobstructed views in every direction make it equally popular at sunrise and sunset.
The sky lounge of Azteca is a versatile social space with plush sofas, a bar, and a premium entertainment system. It moves naturally between relaxed daytime lounge and the centre of evening social life as the hours progress, and its elevated panoramic windows make it popular at all hours.
The 6 staterooms of Azteca accommodate 12 guests overnight in surroundings that match the quality of the master suite in materials and care. Cabins are configured flexibly for different group compositions, several converting between double and twin, and each has an en-suite bathroom, generous storage, individual climate control and a complete entertainment system.
Azteca is built for genuine range cruising, several thousand nautical miles at economical speed, giving the itinerary a flexibility unavailable to most charter yachts. A purpose-built tender and comprehensive toy inventory make every remote anchorage fully accessible.
Dining aboard Azteca is a pleasure in every setting: a formal salon table for up to 10 guests served from a professional galley, and al fresco dining options on at least two deck levels for meals taken under open skies. The on-board chef adapts menus to guests’ preferences and to the finest seasonal produce available at each port of call along the itinerary.
