CARINTHIA VII does not need to compete for attention. At 97 metres, Tim Heywood’s naval architecture gives her the kind of profile that reads instantly on any horizon, and a 2023 refurbishment, recognised as Best Refit at the 2024 World Superyacht Awards, updated every guest space while leaving the yacht’s original design intact. That distinction matters: the judges were rewarding restraint as much as reinvention.

Bizzozero Cassina Architects led the interior refresh, and the result favours calm materials and clean lines over decoration for its own sake, pale timbers, considered art, furniture that reads more residence than yacht. A library and games room sits forward of the main salon, giving guests a second, quieter gathering point away from the principal lounge, itself anchored by deep sectional seating and full-height windows on both sides.

Wellness runs deeper here than the usual gym-and-massage-table pairing. A 90-square-metre gymnasium is genuinely large enough to train properly in, not just tick a box on a spec sheet, and it sits alongside a full spa with hammam and a dedicated beauty salon, the kind of infrastructure more associated with a private retreat than a charter itinerary. On the sundeck, a 124-square-metre expanse surrounds a 12-metre pool, long enough for real laps rather than a dip to cool off.

The master suite spans the full beam, its own study and sitting area built in rather than added on, finished in the same restrained palette as the public rooms. A further seven staterooms carry that consistency through to the guest decks, each with the same attention to material and light that defines the refit throughout.

Aft, a fold-out floating dock turns the swim platform into a proper marina: jet skis, paddleboards and a water slide launch directly from teak decking rather than being ferried out by tender. It is the detail that changes how an afternoon at anchor actually unfolds, water sports become spontaneous rather than scheduled.

Under way, CARINTHIA VII cruises at 18 knots with 25 in reserve, a genuine turn of speed for a yacht her size, and DNV GL classification with a 5,000-nautical-mile range gives her the reach to properly reposition rather than shuttle a single coastline. She spends summer in the Mediterranean and winter in the Caribbean, a rare year-round itinerary at this scale that most charter yachts her size simply cannot offer.

Thirty-three crew look after twelve guests, closer to a three-to-one ratio than the industry norm, which shows up less in any single gesture and more in the absence of friction: service that anticipates rather than reacts, an operation built for owners and charter guests who have done this before and know exactly what good actually looks like, season after season.

From €1,500,000 per week, CARINTHIA VII is not a yacht that needs introducing to anyone who already charters at this level of the market. What the 2023 refit changed is subtler than a new look, it kept what worked, sharpened what didn’t, and left a 97-metre Lürssen that reads as current as anything newer on the water this season.
