Fairline put a twenty-year-old name on a genuinely new boat when the Targa 40 arrived in 2023, and the two generations share little beyond the badge. The bow is close to plumb, the glazing runs almost the full length of the saloon, and a folding balcony on the starboard side turns the cockpit into a terrace at anchor. This is the smallest hardtop in the Targa line and the one that does the most with its 11.99 metres.

The cockpit is the argument for the boat. A hardtop with an electric canvas sunroof opens the whole space, the aft seating converts to a sunbed, and a beach club version of the main deck plan trades the standard bench for a wider bathing area. A tender garage sits under the cockpit sole, which keeps the platform clear for swimming.

Below, two cabins sleep four, with a fifth berth available from the convertible saloon seating. Both cabins take natural light from hull windows, and a single heads compartment has its own separate shower.

Twin Volvo Penta D6 sterndrives provide the drive, either 340 hp units for 28 knots or the 380 hp pairing for 32. Most buyers order the larger engines. For an owner stepping up from a 35 footer, the Targa 40 offers offshore capability, a garage and hand-built British quality at a price that still sits under a million euros.
