These islands, closer to Turkey than to Athens, layer crusader castles and volcanic craters with some of the most beautiful harbours in the Aegean. Expect medieval streets and steaming calderas, sponge-diving heritage and hilltop monasteries, a route rich in history and dramatic scenery.
