Dodecanese: Rhodes to Patmos Charter Itinerary

Dodecanese: Rhodes to Patmos Itinerary

Dodecanese: Rhodes to Patmos Yacht Charter
The far south-eastern corner of Greece, a week up the Dodecanese from the great walled city of Rhodes to sacred Patmos. These islands, closer to Turkey than to Athens, layer crusader castles and volcanic craters with some of the most beautiful harbours in the Aegean. Expect medieval streets and steaming calderas, sponge-diving heritage and hilltop monasteries, a route rich in history and dramatic scenery.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter cove. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Rhodes

Begin on Rhodes, the great island of the Knights, its walled medieval city among the finest in the Mediterranean. Wander the cobbled Street of the Knights, then sail out to anchor for a first swim along the coast.
Day 2

Halki

Cruise to little Halki, a quiet gem ringed by clear water and crowned by the pastel mansions of Emborio, legacies of a wealthy sponge-diving past. Anchor in the harbour, swim in the clear shallows, and slow to island time.

Symi

Sail to Symi, whose harbour of Gialos is one of the most beautiful in all of Greece, a natural amphitheatre of neoclassical mansions in ochre and blue. Anchor below the town, swim in the clear bays, and dine by the water.
Day 4

Nisyros

Continue to volcanic Nisyros, a green and fertile island built around one of the few active calderas in Greece. Descend into the steaming crater of Stefanos, then return to the yacht to anchor in a quiet bay for the night.

Day 6

Kalymnos

Sail to rugged Kalymnos, historic island of the sponge divers and now a world-famous climbing destination, its grey cliffs plunging to the sea. Anchor beneath the crags, swim in the deep water, and take in the dramatic scenery.
