Cuba: Havana & the Cays Itinerary

Cuba: Havana & the Cays Yacht Charter
A week along the coast of Cuba, from the faded grandeur of Havana to remote cays and one of the greatest marine reserves in the Caribbean. This is a rare and evocative cruise, vintage cars and colonial squares, empty beaches and pristine reefs largely untouched by time. Expect music-filled cities and deserted sands, world-class diving and UNESCO towns, a voyage like no other in the region.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter cove. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Havana

Step aboard in Havana, one of the world’s most captivating cities, its crumbling colonial squares alive with music, vintage cars and history. Wander the old town, take in the Malecon at dusk, and settle aboard for the first night.
Day 2

Marina Hemingway & the North Coast

Cruise west along the north coast that Hemingway loved and fished, past quiet fishing villages and empty beaches. Anchor off a deserted strand, swim in the clear water, and savour the untouched shoreline.
Day 3

Los Jardines del Rey

Sail to Los Jardines del Rey, a chain of cays off the north coast ringed by dazzling white beaches and vibrant reefs. Anchor in turquoise shallows, snorkel the coral, and laze on sand that stretches empty for miles.
Day 4

Cayo Largo

Cruise to Cayo Largo del Sur, a low island of blinding white sand and clear turquoise water, home to nesting turtles and superb reefs. Anchor off the shore, swim from the deck, and enjoy a day of pure Caribbean calm.
Day 5

Jardines de la Reina

Sail to the remote Jardines de la Reina, the Gardens of the Queen, one of the largest marine reserves in the Caribbean and a diver’s paradise. Snorkel or dive among sharks and healthy coral in near-pristine wilderness.
Day 6

Cienfuegos

Cruise to the elegant bay-side city of Cienfuegos, the Pearl of the South, with its graceful French-influenced architecture and lively waterfront. Explore the historic centre, then anchor in the great bay for the night.
Day 7

Trinidad

The voyage ends near the exquisite colonial town of Trinidad, a UNESCO jewel of cobbled streets and pastel houses frozen in time. Wander the old town, take a last Cuban evening ashore, and toast a rare week along this coast.
