Norwegian Fjords Charter Itinerary

Norwegian Fjords Itinerary

Norwegian Fjords Yacht Charter
A week through the western fjords of Norway, from Hanseatic Bergen to the incomparable Geirangerfjord, some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. This is a voyage of superlatives, the deepest fjords, the highest waterfalls, cliffs that seem to close overhead. Expect UNESCO fjord arms and Art Nouveau towns, tumbling cascades and mirror-still water, a route of jaw-dropping natural grandeur.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Bergen

Step aboard in Bergen, historic gateway to the fjords, its UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf lined with colourful wooden Hanseatic houses. Explore the old town and fish market, then set sail toward the fjords.
Day 2

Sognefjord

Cruise into the Sognefjord, the King of the Fjords and the deepest and longest in Norway, reaching more than a hundred miles inland. Sail beneath towering walls, past waterfalls and hillside farms.
Day 3

Naeroyfjord & Flam

Sail into the Naeroyfjord, a UNESCO arm so narrow the cliffs seem to close overhead, and on to the village of Flam. Take in the dramatic scenery, ride the famous mountain railway, and anchor in the shelter.
Day 4

Geirangerfjord

Cruise to the incomparable Geirangerfjord, perhaps the most beautiful of them all, where the Seven Sisters waterfall tumbles down the cliffs. Sail beneath the cascades and take in one of the great sights of Europe.
Day 5

Alesund

Sail to the coastal town of Alesund, rebuilt entirely in elegant Art Nouveau style after a great fire and set spectacularly across several islands. Explore the streets, climb Aksla for the view, and anchor nearby.
Day 6

Hardangerfjord

Turn south into the lush Hardangerfjord, the orchard of Norway, famous for its blossom, waterfalls and the mighty Folgefonna glacier. Cruise the green shores, visit a waterfall, and anchor in the calm.
Day 7

Stavanger & Lysefjord

The voyage ends near Stavanger, gateway to the Lysefjord and the sheer plateau of Preikestolen, the famous Pulpit Rock towering 600 metres above the water. Sail beneath it and toast a week in the fjords.
