Japan Charter Itinerary

Japan Itinerary

Japan Yacht Charter
A week through the Seto Inland Sea, the serene heart of Japan, scattered with hundreds of pine-clad islands between Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. This is a cultural voyage of rare depth, floating shrines and world-class art islands, temple towns and sub-tropical reefs. Expect the great torii of Miyajima and the museums of Naoshima, traditional fishing villages and the beaches of Okinawa, a route unlike any other.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter anchorage. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Hiroshima

Step aboard near Hiroshima, a vibrant city risen from its history and gateway to the Seto Inland Sea. Visit the moving Peace Memorial Park, then set sail among the islands as the light softens.
Day 2

Miyajima

Cruise to the sacred island of Miyajima, where the great vermilion torii of Itsukushima Shrine appears to float on the tide. Wander the shrine and forested slopes, then anchor in the sheltered water.
Day 3

The Art Islands

Sail to the celebrated art islands of Naoshima and Teshima, where world-class museums and outdoor sculptures are set among olive groves and beaches. Explore the galleries, then anchor for the night.
Day 4

The Seto Inland Sea

Cruise deeper into the Seto Inland Sea, a serene expanse scattered with pine-clad islands and traditional fishing villages. Weave between the isles, visit a quiet port, and take in the timeless scenery.
Day 5

Onomichi & the Shimanami

Sail to the charming hillside town of Onomichi, gateway to the island-hopping Shimanami route. Wander its temple-dotted lanes, cross a famous bridge by bicycle, and anchor in the calm.
Day 6

Okinawa

Fly south to the sub-tropical Ryukyu Islands and rejoin the yacht at Okinawa, a world away from mainland Japan. Explore the distinctive culture and cuisine, then anchor off a white-sand shore.
Day 7

The Kerama Islands

The voyage ends among the Kerama Islands off Okinawa, ringed by dazzling white beaches and some of the clearest water in Japan. Snorkel the coral, swim from the deck, and toast a unique voyage.
