About Emocean

Emocean was the first yacht Rosetti Superyachts ever delivered, and first hulls usually give themselves away. This one does not.

She arrived in 2021 as the yard’s opening statement — 38 metres, 432 gross tonnes, an explorer profile with a raked bow and a hull that carries its volume forward — and the ambition shows in details a cautious builder would have left out. There is a pool on the sundeck with glass on one side, not a plunge tub. There is a wine cellar built full-height into the middle of the main deck, lit and glazed on both faces so that you walk past the bottles rather than down to them. The master’s balcony folds down out of the hull side. None of these are things a yard does on hull one unless it means to be taken seriously.

The pool is the piece that reorganises the day. It sits at the aft end of the sundeck with the jets working, a ladder at one corner and an awning that can be struck, and it faces open water rather than back at the yacht. Along the same deck runs a bar with stools and a long dining table in teal, and a gym rigged out in the open beside them — dumbbells on a rack, a treadmill, no windowless room below. The upper deck aft is softer: sage sofas and woven chairs under the deck above. The foredeck is the quiet end, sunpads and low tables where breakfast arrives before anyone else is up.

Inside, the design is pale and cool — bleached oak, cream boucle and a consistent line of teal that runs from the deck cushions to the poufs in the saloon. The main saloon is arranged as two facing settees with the aft glazing folded back, so at anchor it reads as one space continuous with the deck. Forward, the wine cellar divides the deck, and dining sits beyond it around an oval glass table against full-height glazing. Up a level, the skylounge is the working room of the yacht: a charcoal sectional, a counter with stools, a screen for the evening.

Accommodation is five cabins for twelve, and the layout is more generous than the arithmetic suggests. The master runs forward with a lattice-timber headboard wall and glass doors that fold back onto the private balcony — a feature that at 38 metres is rare, and one that changes the character of a morning. A study runs alongside it. Below, a full-beam double in teal, a further double and two cabins that convert between twin and double layouts with a Pullman above, which is what lets her take a family of twelve without an awkward room. Nine crew serve them.

She is an explorer by hull form rather than by decoration: 5,000 nautical miles of range at ten knots, a cruise of eleven and a top end of 13.5, and the tankage and stability to use it. What that buys on a Mediterranean charter is not an Atlantic crossing but comfort — she is quiet, she holds her line in a swell, and she does not need to shorten a passage because the sea got up after lunch.

Emocean charters the western Mediterranean from EUR 168,000 per week.
