Elly is a 2023 Fountaine Pajot Power 67, and she answers a question a monohull of her length cannot. A power catamaran carries the volume, stability and shallow draft of a far larger yacht on two slender hulls, and for a family or a group of eight cruising the Greek islands that combination changes the week. She sits level at anchor, slips into coves a deeper yacht has to pass by, and turns her wide beam into living space rather than waterline.
The flybridge is where she makes her case. It runs almost the full beam of the yacht, a single open deck that gathers sunpads, a shaded lounge, a bar and a compact gym under one hardtop, with the helm set forward and clear views on every side. It is the natural centre of the day, high above the water and cooled by the breeze, and few yachts of twenty metres offer anything close to the space.
Down at the water she is built for swimming and toys. The stern opens into a low beach club and boarding platform, and the tender and a deep locker of water toys wait alongside, from seabobs and paddleboards to kayaks, a wakeboard and towables. Each cabin is finished in the same pale timber and soft neutral tones as the salon, quiet and cool after a day in the sun, and each has its own en suite. Three crew live and work aboard without crossing the guest areas, enough to run the yacht and look after a full party through a relaxed week.
Elly cruises the Greek islands through the summer, the Cyclades and the Saronic within easy reach of her home water. She moves at a gentle pace under power, an easy eleven or twelve knots between anchorages with more in hand when a passage calls for it, and her efficiency means longer days on the water and fewer stops for fuel.
