The AB 130 is built to go fast. The third hull in the series, Casa Bri Mare, is built to go fast with children aboard. AB Yachts has released the first images of the 39.65-metre yacht, and the story is less about the 41-knot flagship it sits on than about how far the yard took the layout to suit one family.

A 41-knot flagship
Start with the platform. The AB 130 is the flagship of AB Yachts, a 39.7-metre, 220 gross-tonne yacht driven by three MTU 16V2000 engines of 2,600 horsepower each through waterjets. Top speed is 41 knots and the cruise is 39, figures that belong to a sportsboat rather than a 40-metre superyacht, which typically ambles along in the teens or low twenties. The lightweight construction that makes that possible is the constant; what changes from hull to hull is how the interior volume is used.
Casa Bri Mare, built around a family
Casa Bri Mare was designed in-house, inside and out, around a highly customised and family-focused brief. She sleeps up to twelve guests across five staterooms on the lower deck. The master adds a dressing area of around 36 square metres, his-and-hers washbasins and an extra bed-sofa that can be closed off, while two VIP suites and a twin guest cabin, each ensuite, complete the accommodation.

A convertible cinema, and child-safe corners
The clearest sign of the brief is a 12-square-metre room created by repurposing one of the guest suites. Set up first as a private cinema, it has a double-height ceiling and overhead glazing for daylight, with a blackout blind for screenings. It can later become a gym with a bike or treadmill, or a combined workout space and study. The corners are finished in soft leather padding so the room suits young children, a detail you rarely see written into a performance yacht.
Materials and living spaces
On the main deck, a 63-square-metre saloon splits into living and dining areas, the latter around a bespoke travertine-topped table. The palette stays warm and quiet: beige upholstery, light-brown parquet, Alcantara, pearl-effect lacquered storage and black onyx columns, with stone worked into the lighting. In the staterooms, pearlescent lacquer meets Emperador marble, and the headboards were made as individual pieces with three-dimensional stitching by Marine Leather.
Outdoor living and the water
The aft deck combines a dining table, a sofa, sunpads, an alfresco area and a Jacuzzi. At the stern, a 30-square-metre bathing platform extends with two fold-down wings that add around six square metres each, and a twin tender garage handles the water toys. It is a lot of usable deck for a hull designed first for speed.
Where she fits
Priced new from around 18.7 million euros, the AB 130 is usually cast as a fast toy for short, glamorous hops. Casa Bri Mare makes the case that the same platform can be a genuine family home afloat without giving up the pace, and it is a useful reminder of how far AB Yachts will take a one-off layout.
